Finally Brighton & Hove have a REAL non-commercial place to train :-0 A place for the best of the best to train, sweat & bleed! Just 4 walls, barbells, a tonne of plates and a bunch of other stuff but no running machine taking up precious lifting space. The room is not filled with people on their phones and showing off their most recent tight gym top, instead it’s filled with loud music and grunts from a bunch of awesome people getting on with their training and results. Their focus is on Strength & Conditioning, Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting with some serious competitive beasts training there! To date I’ve attended two Novice Barbell Courses and a Sumo Deadlift Workshop. The workshops couldn’t have been any better. I have been to a bunch… On the Barbell Courses the coach was very precise and gave us a lot of info that has stepped my training up to a new level. We went through mobility, compound lifts(Squat, Overhead Press, Bench Press and Deadlift), accessory work including Pendlay Rows and Band Work. He also ran through smart programming. For the Sumo Deadlift workshop the coach took us through mobility, Box Squats for Sumo lift, The Sumo Deadlift and accessory work including Good Mornings, Rows & Block Pulls. I’ve met some great people there and the coaching is just on the nail. I’m gonna get my arse down there as often as possible, if only it was in London :-)
