Super fantastic and brilliant This place is GREAT. Fab staff who were really friendly when we walked in, chefs baking pastry right there in front of you in the morning. Limited table space from what I could tell. Coffee was delicious. Had had a massive breakfast before so hadn’t the appetite to have a pastry! Boo! They looked delicious. All of them. I want them all. Also — all the Victorian crockery and containers look so brilliant. Real fan.

This bakery and coffee shop is in a really special little pocket of Hove. Whenever I’m in the neighbourhood I scour the road for a parking spot so I can jump out and grab a bun. It’s part of a line of shops with a narrow alley down the middle of it that leads out onto the beach front. It’s so close to the beach you can buy your flat white and breakfast pastry and be on the beach in two minutes with a still hot coffee. As for Sugardough itself, they bake on the premises and as it’s an independent it’s always doing interesting new things. I love the vintage feel interior and the fresh breads, cakes and lunch takeaways too. Go, just go and check it out.

Aaahh lovely sugardough. We like to walk here and get some delicious pastries and cakes before heading down to the beach. The sausage rolls are the best ever and we’ve been lucky enough to get them straight from the oven many times. They also do really nice little pies such as chicken and ham hock or lamb curry. My favourite sweet option is the lemon meringue pie, oh my god it’s amazing! Also the little rum balls are delish. It’s a cute little place you can get sourdough bread and they make everything fresh every day. It’s nice that you can actually see them preparing the cakes and pastries inside. There’s a few tables so you can sit inside too.
