I have stumbled in to Golden Grill many a time after a big night out in Brighton on my way home. To be honest, it’s never really been bad at all! In fact, my partner and I have have got chicken shish kebabs from there quite a few times when we have fancied it. Like tonight — Wrestlemania is on(yes I’m a wrestling fan!) and we wanted some food. I’m following a very low carb diet at the moment, so all I can eat really is meat and veg — shish kebab is perfect! I think they may have changed owners recently(I can’t be 100% though) the standard of the food from there has improved tenfold. The meat is always fresh and piping hot and tastes good quality, which I can’t say about many kebab shops in the city. I thoroughly enjoyed my shish kebab this evening, even if I didn’t eat the pitta.

It’s the wee small hours of Sunday morning, your most resplendent Saturday night is drawing to a close, and your body is screaming out for nutrients — preferably with salt. Now provided you’re anywhere on the Hove side of town there’s one place that is definitely worth a visit. Golden Grill, they have a place on Western Road and one on Church Road and seem to be open whenever you need them. The service is quick and friendly and the prices tend to be less than five pounds, and what’s more through your bleary eyes you can see your food being prepared before you in a clean well maintained kitchen space. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t go there in the day either, I’ve made a few visits while strolling down Western Road and found that the Mexican Burger with cheese still tastes as good as I remembered it tasting during my nocturnal adventures. With seating inside and outside it’s suitable in all weathers and of course you can take your snacks on the road with you if you’re in a hurry. Yes Golden Grill, you really are more than my junk food purveying mistress of the night.

I have to agree with Jo on this one and I personally feel that this ‘grill’ puts the other 2 down by it’s poor quality. I had a kebab here and the pitta was soggy and they half filled the kebab to overflow it with salad which a tiny bit is fine but I’m not going there for SALAD! The thing is people mainly only want kebabs when they are drunk and don’t want to spend fortunes so I suppose you get what you pay for. However, this place takes the mickey a little bit.
