Everything I bought in Buy 2 Win was a definite winner. The sugarless Red Bull? A winner. The Kinder Bueno? A winner. The Official XBox Magazine? A winner. The £5.00 Lebara Phone Voucher? A winner. The can of baked beans? A winner. The 2L jug of milk? A winner. As you can see, there’s a great selection here, and they offer a lot more than a typical newsagents. What’s different is their larger than average grocery section. If you’re in need of a quick meal, Buy 2 Win has plenty of ingredients for you to whip something up. You can get your breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, after dinner snacks and reading material all in this one shop.

Easily one of the best newsagents in Brighton, Buy2Win(again, what is it with newsagents/convenience stores and peculiar names in Brighton?) is much bigger on the inside than out, with a great selection to boot, plus fair prices and service. If you live anywhere to the west of the centre of town, this should be your stop-off point of choice on the way home: they have everything you’ll possibly need. From the outside, Buy2Win looks like your typical convenience store, although the small entrance belies the large floor space you’ll find upon entrance, rammed full of everything you could possibly need. From cooking ingredients to your typical take-away food and chocolate bars, Buy2Win is fully stocked: their huge floor space is stacked high with the items on offer. Beyond their almost mini-supermarket of stock, Buy2Win also have a cash machine outside the front(very handy), accept cards(at a charge) and do all of the electricity and gas keys as well. There’s little the store can’t help you with when it comes to basics: not quite a Tesco Express, but certainly cheaper. It’s also open surprisingly late for a place with this much stock: in the end, as corner shops go, it’s the best I’ve ever been in. It doesn’t really compare to mini-supermarkets beyond the selection, but as corner shops go, it is remarkable.

Buy 2 Win sounds like a strange title for a shop I know. It is however, the best newsagent and grocery store I’ve found within walking distance of my office. Open early til late seven days a night, B2W sells a great selection of music, fashion and lifestyle magazines from Mojo and Uncut to Dazed and Confused. It also stocks a wide range of munchies from crisps and crackers to chocolate, candy and biscuits. Alongside Mars and Crunchie bars, you can get about six different Green & Blacks bars and Hersheys Cookie and Cream. Alongside a great dairy section stocking butter, cheese, yoghurt and smoothies, there’s deli items like humous, olives and feta, baking ingredients like flour, sugar and cocoa and aisles of store-cupboard essentials like soup, rice, pasta, beans and tinned fruit. The fact the staff are friendly and the shop is well laid out makes Buy 2 Win a definite win-win.

This is a great store, far larger on the inside than it appears on the out, which boats a great range of soft drinks, snacks, alcohol and a variety of convenience store items, and food products. Certainly a great store to try if you’re nearby, though I imagine they must lose a lot of business to the nearby Tesco Express.
