The crispy Szechuan duck is the stuff dreams are made of. Seriously. It is almost a month since I had it and I am still thinking about it. This restaurant is pricy, and portions are really small, but the food and service are fantastic. This is the kind of place where they put your napkin in your lap for you and assemble your dish at the table. The crispy duck comes out in one piece and then they shred it up for you. It comes with lovely paper thin Chinese pancakes which you then top with delicious duck sauce and finely sliced green onion and cucumber before adding your duck and rolling it up to eat. The duck is crispy yet tender and not at all greasy. It is aromatic and spiced perfectly. If I had a long layover I would come here again for sure!

I ate here while staying overnight at Hilton. The service is great, but cannot say the same about the food especially. For the price I was expecting something better.

Ate here on an overnight stay in the hilton. Typical Chinese food with not much unique for the standard fare. Had some very expensive duck and seafood but did not try that due to the price. Too much for company expenses. Food was ok, atmosphere ok, typical Chinese restaurant décor. If you are in the mood for Chinese and stay in the hilton it’s ok.

Besides the extremely spicy hot soup«hot and sour», overly priced, extremely salty and unflavored food nothing else to comment or spend time on this review. Truly a waist of money, half of craft of white wine and 4 appetizers 110 pounds, which equals to $ 176.

Very good food fresh ingredients. Presentation and service of the highest quality so that said it’s very pricey. The restaurant is a bit small but every inch is perfectly maintained. You are not rushed through your courses of excellent delicious asian dishes so you can sit and savor every spice and herb in every bite.

this place is good for the business traveler as the prices are extremely high for a Chinese restaurant(17 – 30GBP per plate, rice extra). I expect to pay this at a hotel near the airport and the food is good quality. The service is excellent however be warned, the portions are very small even by UK standards. The Vietnamese spring rolls are small, thumb sized egg rolls wrapped in rice paper and fried. They are served with a mint leaf and lettuce with a fish sauce dip. The prawn dishes are full of big U-10 prawns however white rice is an extra charge. the soups are bland, I wasnt a fan of the hot and sour or the won ton. The Yang Chow fried rice was good, but only the size of a typical single serving soup bowl. Expect to spend about 20 – 30GBP per person and they add a service charge of 10%. Classy.

After a long flight from California this was a treat. I would suggest staying at the Hilton or making this final meal before leaving the country or even making it a meal during a long layover if you do not have lounge access. I ordered way too much but I was very happy with my choices. I had some dim sum to start with. They were steamed very well with the filling bring the Chinese flair I have enjoyed on the past. The next was the crispy duck. Wow… It’s still something I talk about as the best duck ever and this review is a few years late. :) The skin was very crispy and the meat was still juicy and and a thin layer of duck fat. It is still the best and I try to find the same in the Chinese restaurants with my family. For desert– tangerine sorbet inside a a tangerine. I was a clever way to service it, but it also added some bitter taste to it that I liked. All in all this was a highlight of the trip and I would like to visit again when I take my wife in the future.

I wouldn’t call this traditional chinese but a oriental restaurant with chinese influence. I had the crispy duck and the dim sum appetizers. Located in the Hilton small but very nice. Good service a bit pricey but worth the experience especially if your palette os open to something different. Would defenitely recommend.

The BEST oriental restaurant I have ever been to. I choose oriental, thai, Japanese, Chinese, Singaporean, Indonesian or Malaysian over prime rib any day take it from me, eat here if you fly into LHR. Service is outstanding. The best costs a little more.

Some of the most memorable waiter service I have ever received, anywhere. I told them I am gluten free and they were very understanding, my husband is vegetarian and we were planning on splitting food. They customized dishes just for us and made sure our sauces like hot sauce were compatible with these choices. The house champagne by the glass was fabulous, this was one of the best meals we had in London after visiting for more than 10 days. And like all of London, this is expensive.

Can’t believe others are giving high ratings to this place. Quite possibly the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The waiter was angry we didn’t have reservation and made us feel uncomfortable, yet they had open tables. Had to wait for 1 hour to get our food. Another table next to us left because they were waiting a long time and kept getting wrong food. Our food came out bland and cold. Portions were very small, tapas-style. This place would get 2 stars from me if it was a $ 6 per plate place in a strip mall, but for a $ 250USD bill for 4 people, this is a rip-off and a joke.

We were apprehensive of eating at a restaurant in a hotel initially, but were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service here. This is not your cheap Chinese restaurant. Expect to spend 30 to 35£ per person. Every dish we had was excellent: vegetable spring rolls, pork pot sticker dumplings, crispy Szechuan beef strips, and mixed Chinese greens. We didn’t have room for dessert, but they looked good as well. The service was also exceptional some one was ready to refill water or pour tea the entire meal. Definitely a keeper when I stay at this hilton.

Incredible. Wow. Clean Chinese food. Not too heavy. Perfect portions. Well presented. Amazing taste. I grew up in the far east but have never had Chinese like this. I will be back.

Not sure what restaurant others ate at but this place had bland, brown food at Hugh prices. $ 10 for a bowl of flavorless wonton soup. They replaced it with corn crab soup which was like corn egg drop with a couple of pieces of crab thrown in. Had the chicken lettuce wraps which came with a tiny plate if ground up(hopefully) chicken and who knows what else. Enough for 2 wraps tho they brought 6. So a $ 45US dinner that had no redeeming qualities.

An oasis of fine food(almost) within Heathrow airport. 10 min walk over highway to the Hilton hotel is where you will find Zen Chinese. For a light lunch in between flights I enjoyed the soft shell crab with peppercorn sauce and pan friend pot stickers. Both were prepared spot on. Not a Bloomenthal menu, but a great diversion nonetheless.

The Mrs & I were staying at the Heathrow Hilton for the night and decided to try the Zen Oriental. It’s new since the last time I stayed here, many years ago. In a word, excellent! The staff was extraordinarly courteous, attentive & professional and the food was just to die for. We rank it with top Chinese restaurants we’ve eaten at in the US and Europe. Not only would we return, we’re trying to see if we have enough time on our next Heathrow layover to sneak over here and have dinner.

Excellent high Chinese. Frequented equally by local businesses(most definitely on expense account) and world travelers. Try the whole duck presented tableside.
