Delish comfort food: fish (cod filet) and chips and a steak and bombardier ale pie. Had a Greene King IPA and Adnam’s ghost ship, both were great!

Food is ok. The menu is a standard one for a chain pub. There is better places locally.

My first local in the UK. I will always hold fond memories of this place.
My friends and I befriended some of the bartenders there which made it enjoyable.
They used to (and maybe still do) have a deal between 3−6pm where you get two entrees and two pints for 8 quid. You can’t beat that.
In general the drinks are quite affordable.

This pubs staff made it very obvious that they’d rather be somewhere else doing something else. The food that I tasted very obviously reheated by microwave, which made me not want to return.
This pub is on a busy road with no garden as such. They have a smoking shelter out the front which looks a bit of an i saw.
I would not visit again.
