Lovely country pub with good food and a nice selection of beer. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary, but in a great location, and very friendly. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re nearby.

A cracking little pub with stunning views over the marshes. Nice tight menu, a few daily specials and friendly service. This pub has not made the mistake of abandoning being a pub in favor of trying to be a restaurant. Starters of garlic bread and chicken wings and BBQ sauce were extremely tasty and a great start to the meal. The fish pie for main was fantastic. Think of all the fish pies you have had where you play hunt the fish — this was the opposite. Full of tasty salmon and haddock. The haddock and chips for the other main had light batter and was beautifully cooked. As far as pubs that serve food, this was was great value and served very nice food. Add in the view and this pub is well worth the visit. Try it.

What a beautiful place! Staying with my mother on the coast, we drove past the pub and thought we’d try it out. The setting is great, right by the sea with a cracking building to match! Really homely and cosy, and the staff treated us like they’d known us all their lives! Local beers on tap which is always nice. The food was amazing, tasty and well cooked. I know that everytime I come to this part of the world, I’ll be having a meal here!

If you follow the coast road along the beautiful North Norfolk coast(A149) you will pass the Dun Cow as you travel through Salthouse. This pub is well worth stopping for. The pub is partly built around an old smithy and has an excellent elevated position overlooking the marshes to the sea beyond and to the side overlooks the village green. On a nice day you can sit in the large beer garden which is located at the front of the pub and food can be served here too. This pub is very popular with walkers and twitchers alike and many people staying in Cley will walk along to it. It has a good selection of real ales, from memory, Broadside, Abbot and IPA. The food is excellent and the portions generous. A friendly pub too, well worth stopping off for, oh yes you can also watch the cows grazing from here as well as bird spotting!
