Had dinner at the Pheasant. It was very good and traditional. However it also has an extensive specials board which is particularly upscale. Went with traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and a pint of stout. Great place particularly given that it is at Heathrow which generally lacks good choices.

There’s a wide choice of food on the menu, there should be something to please nearly anyone. We enjoyed the food, which arrived in reasonable time, served very hot, and the portion size was very good.

I’m not a fan of the British kitchen, but the pheasant really excited me. We were a party of five, and the whole team was very friendly, and attentively. They offer a wide range of beers, and other beverages. The main courses were all delicious, and I fell in love of the«crème brûlée». So 5 stars, and my personal favorite restaurant in this area. But please don’t forget to make a reservation :-).

The Pheasant was not pleasant. I had very high hopes for this place. It was recommended by a person in the lobby of the holiday inn(after I found it on Unilocal). A quick 10 minute walk brought us to the beautiful façade. My guests were already singing my praises for finding this gem. We walked in and the bar and it was packed(a good sign), but we wanted a more traditional dinning experience so we went upstairs. After getting dirty looks from the bartender and the manager — we were finally greeted with«do you have a booking?» Keep in kind this Is a Thursday in January. We did not have a reservation, and they said it was a 2 hr wait. So we went back to the bar, and they wouldn’t let us order because my 16 year old sister was with us(must be 18). And did I mention that everyone in the dinning room MUST order a full meal! We left, disgusted, disappointed, hungry and thirsty.

Really a great surprise! Very good food, demonstrating attention for details in both researching sophisticated tastes and offering elegant food presentations. I’m in this area few weeks a year and always searched for a decent place to eat… besides the usual, standard hotels’ restaurants. Now I found the place and I’ll have an entire week to try many different options. It’s a hard job, yet someone has to take it! ;))

I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and was disappointed. What I was served was like a pool of gravy with mashed potatoes on top. There was very little lamb and the lamb that was there was ground so finely that you could barely taste it.

Just had the most lovely Sunday beef roast for dinner. First off, it was enormous! I hadn’t eaten all day, having taken a redeye from Washington, DC to London, checked in, showered, napped, and stumbled down the lane from the Marriott for supper. I was so hungry, I was dizzy, and by the time I tucked in to my plate, I thought I could have eaten the entire cow. But the portion size defeated me! I wound up leaving several ounces of meat on my plate, plus the(IMHO, hated) parsnips as well as some potatoes. I was NOT going to leave a scrap of the Yorkshire pudding though! It was perfect! Crisp, not greasy, and enormous. It was the perfect complement to the beef and gravy. I’ll also note that the plate itself was warmed so that the meal stayed hot throughout. It was really perfect. The bartender was also quite sweet. I’m used to pubs where you order the food and drink from the bar, but this place has a bar and separate food counter. He came out from behind the bar and took me around to the food counter and explained the system here to me in my jetlagged state. Truly hospitable and kind. I plan on coming back here to try the fish and chips or one of the pies during my week long stay here in London. Can’t wait!

The food was excellent! Huge portions, and delicious! The staff was very courteous and professional. I would go back again… reservations would be the best way to go as the place is very busy.

This is a wonderful place to eat. I will definitely be coming back. Just a short walk from Bath Rd. I was staying at the Sheraton, it’s very convenient to get to from the hotel. The food is outstanding & the price is really cheap for what you get. One of the best meals I have had in London.

The night I visited, this pub was packed! There was a long queue to order food. It was worth the wait. The menu is very large and ranges from traditional English pub food to steaks, etc. The beer selection is good. The staff are friendly. The ambience is great. I travel to the area a couple times a year. I have found my home away from home for evenings.

Quick service, wide selections, all well done. Have had steaks, pies, fish and chips, puddings without disappointment. Make a reservation if you want the restaurant as opposed to the pub. Proper ales, broad selection, much preferred to hotel fare.

Great food and a good collection of brews. The building itself is very interesting, with unique roof lines which have render a loft like feel inside. There is a pub as you enter on the right, which seems to be more popular. During summers, this section has an outdoor seating area of you don’t mind ordering food and drinks at the bar and taking it outside. The sea food is fresh and the portions magnanimous. The cod and sea bass are my favorites. I’ve never been able to finish my plate here.

Had a layover and wanted to at least try some fish and chips on our stop over. We rushed our butts over here in hopes that the kitchen was still open passed 10. Luckily for us the bar area was still open and we got our beer battered fish and chips! The portion was huge and it came with two sides. Overall the fish was good and the fried crust wasn’t overbearing. The sides we shared were the peas, cole slaw, regular fries and curly fries. Though I didn’t have anything besides the fish and chips, I would recommend coming through here if you’re just stopping by, want a drink, and grab some grub near the airport. Their menu selection was pretty big, so you don’t have to limit yourself. The resturant was charming and pretty spacious inside as far as making room for seats in different spaces and nooks. The people that were there seem to be regulars and some people from the airport and such. Overalls nice little experience. Cheers!

Wow the portions here are so big that two people really only need one order. Food and atmosphere are great. Also some nice local beers on tap. There is a fancy restaurant attached but why go there when the pub is so awesome.

Likable place. I was there in the early afternoon on a weekday and found it relaxing. Plenty of places to sit. The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. The crowd is a mix of travelers, airport related workers or those from the neighborhood(yes it’s in an actual neighborhood). So nice to find such a relaxing place near Heathrow. If you’re on a layover and taking a bus, give yourself about 20 minutes each way for the ride and walk from the Heathrow Central Bus Station. Take any bus that goes on Bath road and exit at the stop near the Radisson hotel and walk from there.

Great atmosphere. Have formal restaurant and pub sections. Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, and the food is great. Walking distance to Heathrow. It doesn’t seem like you’re near the airport.

Quiet little escape from the hustle and bustle of the airport and within walking distance of a lot of the major airport hotels. They have a huge, varied menu at really great prices and best of all the portions are massive! Brilliant value for money. I’ve been here countless times now and never been disappointed!

Wirklich gutes Englisches Essen? Wirklich gutes Englisches Essen!!!

Do yourself a favor when staying at Heathrow airport hotels. Leave the hotel for dinner. If you’ve stayed on Bath Road, you know finding a decent restaurant outside your hotel seems impossible. Not so. Just a few short blocks off Bath Rd(on New Street, in between the Radisson and Marriott hotels), there is a hidden little gem. The Pheasant. You have the option of the pub or restaurant. Dine indoors or out. The building is beautiful. The service is solid. And the food is delicious. It’s a big menu with plenty of options to suit everyone. Last evening, I had the fried calamari strips as a starter and a brie and beetroot tart with salad for the main course. It was more food than I could possibly eat but it was very tasty. The price tag was much lower than you will pay in hotel restaurants and the restaurant has much more charm.
