I think Chris H’s review covers all bases perfectly. I do love the food though, and yes, especially the duck!

I had seen Tai Pan from the traffic circle going into work many a time and always told myself I’d go and check it out one of these days, and finally got around to it. Low and behold… it turned out to be a whole lotta nuttin’ to write home to mom about. Mediocre food amidst a lot of foxtrot wisky tango(as Jenny would say it)… I didn’t think it was possible for people with british accents to be so trashy. The whole time I was in the establishment, I was baraged by elbows and leering looks from the overweight man the next table over who keeps leaning over to read the magazine I had in my hand. When I look up at him, he was unphased and gave me a little knowing nod… ewwwww. Seriously? Get me the heck out of here ASAP. I would put up with this behavior only if the food was good. Unfortunately, the food is bad and the waitresses are bitchy. If you are craving lots of mediocre to bad Chinese food, look no further than Tai Pan. As for me, I’m not going back again, thank you very much.

Tai Pan is your standard all you can eat buffet affair. The food is average and all the basses are covered. Some dishes feel very greasy and overly sweet. The duck is very nice as are the skewers. The desert selection isn’t the greatest as the ice cream is tasteless and bland though the chocolate cake is nice. The service is very good though the beer selesction is lacking a bit. All in all it is a good food for the money you pay the only really bad part is the aweful music they pump in.
