Hereford Asda is located south of the river and off a very busy roundabout, but it it easy to get in and out of all the same. It has a large carpark and there is always plenty of spaces. For those with children, you can park in a parent and child space with any child under the age of 12. Disabled spaces are in front of the cash machines(there is three machines and they always seem to be working). The car park gets very busy on a sunday afternoon for some reason and it takes ages to get out. I always park close to the entrance if I go then as it saves sitting in the car for half an hour with my ice cream melting! The store entrance is fairly large and they often have some fundraising going on in this area, just to warn those who don’t like being badgered for money when they shop! The clothes section is great for all ages, male and female. They also have accessories and shoes. My daughter has the £2.50 school trousers and they last, and fit, well. They have a variety of dvds and computer games and the prices are comparable with other supermarkets imo. The homeware section is good with bedding, bathroom accessories, candles and other decorative items, including cushions and throws. Plus a fairly large selectio of kitchen and dining items. They always have bargain items, such as picnic tables the last time I was in. The toy section is small but I can usaully find something for whatever child I am buying for. The have quite a good selection of adults and child books and magazines and they are well laid out, unlike some supermarkets which can be a bit messy. And, of course, they have groceries! The shelves always seem well stacked and there is a good choice of everthing I buy. I usually check the freezers at the end of the aisles for frozen bargains. The tills are quite small and there is not enough space for the items to collect safely once they have been scanned. The staff will slow down if asked though. I guess this is the same with every Asda? The self service tills are often busy and they aren’t quick to help if you have a problem. This results in there being a backlog of people at times and it would be better if they responded quicker and stopped people with a basket full of items from using them! The café is nothing to write home about. They often have no information boards up but still look at you like you are stupid when you ask what they have! You get one free drink refill though, so that’s good. One last mention is the coin machine where you can put all your saved coppers and be given ‘bigger’ money in return. You have to pay a percentage of the amount but it is well worth it for those like me who cannot be bothered with counting and bagging all their pennies.

A well placed supermarket right in the heart of Hereford town centre, just over the bridge on the tight. They have a good selection of food. This is my first and usually my last stop when I’m heading in to town — largely because of thier big DVD section.

Wow, what a great supermarket! It has such a wide selection of food, and the prices are really not bad. It also has a great range of clothing, video games, DVDs, music, and household electronics.
