Gilbert Motors are reliable guys. They genuinely do good work, at standard prices for mechanic work. They will usually offer you a reconditioned part if it will save you money, which has saved me a fortune over the years. They do MOTs while you wait but it’s worth going on a weekday as there is always a big queue on Saturdays. They will take your car in without prior notice, but be warned if you don’t ring to book in first then you may find yourself wating a long time, as they are quite popular and get busy. If possible get someone to pick you up and bring you back later as they don’t have a waiting room (although there is a loo you can use if you’re feeling brave). They are good at what they do and don’t try to rip you off — just what you need from a mechanic.
