I was treated to a float as part of my Dry January campaign so went along for my first floatation session. The venue is on a main road with no obvious parking but there is ample free street parking as well as a free car park just behind the building. On entering I was expecting to be able to hear all the traffic and wasn’t sure how this would work for something that is supposed to be relaxing but, once inside, it is like being somewhere else entirely. The staff are welcoming and explain the process fully putting any anxieties at bay. I loved my float, the pod was the perfect temperature and I was able to chill out completely with my own thoughts. You are asked to shower before and after your float and the shower is amazing with lots of different settings. My only complaint would be that it takes a fair while to warm up so I stood shivering covered in salt water from the float waiting! There were lots of toiletries to use or you can take your own. There is also a separate chill out room where you can take your time drying your hair, putting your make up on, getting ready to face the world again. Whilst you do this the staff bring a pot of homemade fruit tea and a fruit sorbet to help get your body back to its natural temperature. Such a lovely touch and the staff are so welcoming it is really a full 360 degree experience. There is a full review on my blog for anyone who hasn’t floated before.
