Halesworth Book Shop

Just to clarify, paulsock is actually reviewing the shop called (and owned/​run by) James Hayward in Halesworth, which is a five-​star second-​hand book store. The Halesworth Bookshop is also excellent, but only sells new books.

Ok, I’m an actor and I love going into old book shops to try and find plays that you don’t usually see. Here I was in a kind of trancey state as I saw so many my brain couldn’t compute it straight away. I was sat on the floor of this antiquarian book shop with a pile of books I wanted around me in piles of ‘yes’, ‘no’ and ‘maybe’, taking into account that money is something actors like to keep hold of as we don’t know where the next lot is coming from. So when I had calculated to the penny the amount I had to pay, the owner totted it up and then gave me money off as I had bought so much. Fan-flippin’-tastic says I! Part of me didn’t want to tell you all about this shop, but part of me wants to shout about it from the rooftops.
