Hawthorns Bar and Restaurant

BEWARe… Unedible so called indian then charged us full price we tried to explain but didnt seem to make difference

I can only rave about this restaurant. My friend and I visited Glastonbury a few months ago for her birthday. Between us we’re a bit of a nightmare to feed. Me being gluten and onion intolerant and her being vegan. Two of the others in the group had rung ahead and warned the restaurant of our requirements. The staff honestly went above and beyond. They’d decorated the table with birthday decorations and were ready to talk us through the menu when we arrived. There were so many options for both of us! I ended up having the roast chicken breast which was cooked to perfection. For drinks we were after some non alcoholic cocktails. They bought out a book and told us to choose what we’d like to drink. When we chose non-​alcoholic pina coladas, we were shocked when they left the restaurant to get coconut milk and then made the whole thing by hand as they didn’t have a blender. As for the cake, they bought out a vegan, gluten free tart which was absolutely delicious. I was so impressed by the dedication of the staff, they really went above and beyond.

Popped into this inviting looking restaurant with my mum for dinner tonight. The layout is cute and pub-​like. We gotba table for two in the quickly filling restaurant. There were two waitresses that quickly brought over some water and took our orders.
I ordered the chicken breast and my mum got the veggie pie. I contemplated ordering the potato skins but they had run out giving the last order to the table next to me. The food took quite a long wait before it came out but once we got it I will say that it was very good. Great taste and presented well.
I heard them telling a neighboring table that they had run out of another dish, was only around 8pm and they are open quite late. Finished dinner and was ready to order an apple pie with custurd, but alas, they didnt have custard in stock either. So I said no dessert then. I sat at the table for about 15 minutes until asking if I had to go pay somewhere as the waitress hadnt brought the check. She said no she will bring it over. I see her roaming around for 10 more minutes and still no check. My cash was on the table the entire time. Finally the other waitress brought it over.
Overall good food, if your not in a hurry then check it out. Reservations may be smart.
