Whoa! We Love To Boogie have moved to the biggest vintage catchment area in the city, and seem to be reeling it in if their fancypants fronting has anything to do with it! It looks like they’ve upped their game since they relocated from their modest Charing Cross store. Where once they offered choice pluckings of vintage gear, they now seem to stock an abundence of loud, proud clothing from all eras. And not only can you shop, but you can eat while you’re browsing! With a new ice cream counter, teas and coffees while you have a looksie, it’s the only independent clothing shop in Glasgow I can think of where you can do this. We Love To Boogie is too expensive for me, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love to gander their selections. It’s a fun shop and I love what they’ve done with this place, inside and out. With their new circus font signage, all I can say is «Roll up, roll up!»

Funkier than a funky chicken and hepper than the most heppest of hep cats«We love to Boogie» is the chic boutique for the discerning vintage gear hunter. Laying lo daddy oh on St George’s Road and with a subtle, ’ no need to shout brother’ neon sign, this place has a wonderful selection of some prime vintage clothing for both guys and gals. Ok so you may need some serious bread to lay your hands on some of the choice threads, but hey, that’s the price of fashion. Check it out. This is a hidden gem that will have you coming back for more and more.

I saw ‘We Love to Boogie’ on Byres Road, and I thought, ‘Is that a clothing shop, or a café?’ Turns out, it’s both. Shop for a bit, then take your ease with a cup of coffee and maybe something sweet. Sandwiches are also available, and there are cute little tables outside if you fancy sitting in the sun. Otherwise, some vintage tables inside amongst all the pretty. The clothes on display are a mix of authentic vintage and some designer direct. Both areas are a bit pricey. One 80’s style polka dot dress was marked at £50, even though it had been clearly altered(badly). Personally, I would have marked it down for the defect, but then I don’t run the place. The designer rack is full of colourful and unique dresses from local designers. Many of them are one-off originals, so you can understand that it’s a bit pricey. The entire place was gorgeous as a whole, and had a certain style to it that we’ve come to expect of a vintage store. Minus a couple of points for being a bit dear, but overall, a good look.
