Thistle

Like the previous review I was shocked at how empty this place was, surprising for a bar that was so huge and nicely styled, maybe it was location. Anyway I was baffled, its not like it is up a side street or anything. I would have liked it to be busier, think It could be a really fun vibrant atmosphere if the Thistle was full of a good range of people. That’s the kind of place I saw it as, maybe a bit more geared towards late 20s, but that’s just a guess from the ambiance, the feel of the space. I think at weekends this could be a cool hang out, and you are sure to get a drink served to you as there are plenty staff and a great big bar surface area.

This was a great big bar, but for some reason it was completely empty. As we went in, some stairs led up to an area of seats. On the right was another area of tables and chairs, but we sat in a nice booth.
The toilets were big and spotlessly clean. Even though we were the only customers, the bar staff put the jukebox on for us. It was quite modern looking, with piney furniture and lots of space at bar. It also sold food, although I have no idea what it’s like.
I think it would be pretty crap being here when it’s busy, but the lovely staff make it a worthwhile visit.
