Second time in this place, first time I asked for a Cointreau and lemonade — the only thing I ever drink. I was handed a clear drink! Well as all Cointreau drinkers will tell you, this drink should be cloudy. When I pointed this out to the barman I was met with an aggressive attitude and verbal abuse«you fu… watched me pour it». I left at this point. Second visit with family and a request for the same drink by another female, same results. This time a female bar worker took the attitude«you have argued about this before, it is Cointreau» I don’t know what they are putting in their Cointreau bottles but it is not the«real thing». I will definitely not be going back in, hate being ripped off and the attitude of the staff is shocking.

Normally I’d pass by bars on Old Dunbarton Rd without a second thought, but this place piqued my curiosity when it was labelled as Heisenberg’s. Looking for a place to show the rugby, I stopped in here with my friend from Seville. The bar is full of dark-stained wood & seems like a real oldies pub, but it’s frequented by a real variety of locals. They have two huge screens flanking the entrance for when you want to watch sport. The bar’s deceptively large, with plenty of room for parties large & small. They have a fairly standard selection on tap, but they have Furstenburg in bottles & fentimans mixers. There’s a decent mix of live music throughout the week, but the pub stereo tends to play a pretty palatable mix of new & old tunes. This pub might not be on your list of drinking spots, but it’ll surprise you if you squeeze past the bouncers on the door & walk inside. Cheap prices, a warm reception await in this old, atmospheric Partick boozer
