This gallery is easily missed, it took me years to notice it. Located in between Tesco and a dental lab it doesn’t really shout arts venue! However it’s actually a lovely gallery space once you step inside. It’s owned by Joe Mullholland who is behind the Hidden Lane development and a few other venues in Finnieston. The gallery has new exhibitions every couple of months often by local artists or people linked to the history of Glasgow. There have been many exhbitions of the photography of the late Margaret Watkins and quite a few Alasdair Gray exhibits too. The wonderful thing about the place is that whoever is working in the gallery will chat with you and tell you lots about the exhibition. They’re always friendly and enthusiastic but not too in your face so you can still have a good browse. You can buy prints, postcards, books and exhbition catalogues too. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the area and don’t forget to have a wander round the artist’s studios on The Hidden Lane behind the gallery.

Very small gallery but the current exhibition of historical pictures from Glasgow is very fascinating. There also is sketches too, some dated quite far back. They sell postcards too in there and the area in the basement is very unusual, it would be perfect for plays etc — I don’t know if they use that space for that. Oh it’s free.
