This is my local Chinese take away spot as it’s right down the street from my place & it’s pretty darn delicious! I usually get the chicken curry, fried rice, prawn crackers and occasionally the mixed veg if I am feeling extra hungry. I love the taste of all the dishes I have ordered from here, no complaints EXCEPT at times they don’t cook the mixed veg thoroughly & it tastes like sauce & raw veg which I’m not down for. The service is really fast and the staff are polite & friendly. Try it out if you are ever on this side of town :)

As a sit in restaurant the food is reasonable. As is the service. Basic facilities of course but as is the price and location so not a problem. In terms of atmosphere the place is usually busy so you get distracted from the horrendous kitch décor. On one occasion eating in I had chicken chop suey, which was a disaster nothing like a GOOD chop suey. This place is fine for the classic chicken curry with luminous orange sauce which is the delicacy. For takeaway AVOID at all costs. Something about the nature of the food served makes poor delivery. Horrible coagulated thickened sauce with burned rice arrive time and again after a very long wait. To conclude acceptable to eat in. Horrendous to take away.

These comments are totally ridiculous ! The Poa San is probably the best Chinese takeaway in the East End! Firstly may I point out that the management has not changed in the last ten years fact! I travel from the south side to go to the Poe San because the food is great, not greasy, not congealed. Its delicious! Do not listen to the last few posters, they are completely fabricated! P. S. when I have used home delivery when staying at a friends in dennistoun it has only taken 20−40mins.

the food is pretty good if it turns up, but most it times it takes abouts 90mins for a delivery! the chinese sounding guy will always tell you half an hour, yey 90 mins later when you call back, you get told its just leaving the shop, in other words you food is cooked and sitting there in a tray, getting cold and conjealing until they get other delivey in the same area, that they can be bothered sending when you do get your food, its bed time, its freezing and your curry sauce is congesled! if the chinese guy answers the phone dont order, youll be lied to about the order, if they screw up what you want, thats it apology, no fix, no discount next time. the guy has no customer service skill or loyalty. we h ave phoned them for years and put up with this as we liked their food. but the delivery service is a disgrace– time to switch, i watched an entire football match dinner turned up good food, crap service, crap manager

I used to go here all the time under the old management and it was fantastic, all the food was incredible and the owners were really friendly and welcoming! I’ve only been once under the new management and although the food was still fantastic, the atmosphere wasn’t the same and the owners were not as involved or friendly.

The Poa San is a fantastic, but totally ordinary looking restaurant and takeaway in Dennistoun in the East End of Glasgow. The restaurant and takeaway menu is admittedly bog standard chinese menu but it is without a doubt one of the best. I once stayed nearby and this was a Friday night treat. Since moving 30 miles away, I still drive here to pick up my Friday night fix. Their lemon chicken is one of the best I’ve tasted. Also extremely organised and efficient staff who keep the crowds ticking over. Would recommend for your weekend takeaway without hesitation if you live nearby(or well worth the journey if you don’t!)
