I’ve been here twice since my check in so that means it has to be pretty darn good! The service: It’s fast casual hospitality. You que, then order what you want from the counter, pay for it, an d you’re on your way. The staff are friendly, explain the spiciness of the salsas, and try to upsell you on sides. The food: I’m a US expat. This ain’t no Chipotle. It is however, a good Chipotle-ish option. I’ve tried both the spicy pork and chicken and didn’t find either to be particularly spicy. The black beans are cooked with salsa and onions which is OK but not ideal. The fajita veggies are great and they give you a ton! The pico de gallo is fresh and exactly what you’d expect, and like the black beans, the corn salsa is mixed with salsa. The tortilla chips is where they lose the star. They are horrible. Terrible. Standard tortilla chips that are bright yellow in color, offer no flavor, and have very little salt. Yuck. The price: My go-to is a barre burrito(burrito bowl) and i quite enjoy them. You get a lot for only £6.30 and definitely can split this into two meals. That’s a fabulous value! Overall: I’ll certainly be back! If you’re in the mood for Mexican and want it to be fast, look no further! They’ve got you covered AND on a budget.

I remember when this branch opened, I think I made it along a few days after and immediately fell for the simple, customisable menu which is based on some tasty tasty ingredients. The premise is simple, you pick your dish type(burrito, tortilla etc), pick your beans(pinto or refried) then pick a main filling(chicken, beef, pulled pork, roasted veg), then decide which salsa you want(mild, hot, sweetcorn), add some sour cream, cheese and a few other items to finish of things to your taste. Top tip: don’t go mad, these are messy enough to eat and as much as I like guacamole, it does just add to the squidgy/drip factor! I usually have a burrito, they are pretty filling so I tend to avoid any other side dishes, and I’ve tried most of the combinations of filling. For me my favourites are pinto beans, pulled pork, sweetcorn salsa and replacing the sour cream with guacamole(see above tip!), OMNOMNOM! Since this branch opened, they have two more, including the tiny one hiding on Gordon Street. Pinto is a great example of a local business that offers tasty foods at a reasonable price. I wish there were more places like this in the city centre(one day I dream that TGI Fridays will be replaced by a series of stalls selling street food, a bit like the ones in Camden) but as it’s not too far from the office I work in on a Friday, I’m quite happy that I can have a Friday burrito every week! If you haven’t tried it, and are worried about mexican food being ‘hot’ you needn’t be. The staff can guide you but I think the chicken filling, with sour cream is mild enough for most palates so give it a try! Ohh and if you do decide to wander in around lunchtime during the week, don’t be put off if the queues is almost out the door, it moves quick!

I’ve eaten here twice, both times I was underwhelmed by the food. Had heard great stuff about it, but it’s not really any better or different from Taco Mazama, and certainly not a patch on, as other reviewers have said, Benito’s Hat in London. I wish they’d come up here! The second visit I made, I experienced such woeful service that I complained retrospectively to the management — they sent me some free vouchers, but I gave these to a colleague as I was so scunnered with the place, I couldn’t face going back. The staff need some basic customer service skills pronto. For that reason, I would not go back.

Got two loyalty cards(one each) and can confirm they have rest rooms(first thing on left) and you can get free water in a cup(don’t have to buy expensive bottled water). Was really cosy and great location for us to go before going to train station to go home.

Been here a few times as my husband loves the place. Each time I have been I’ve tried different things as I found the first time I wasn’t a fan. The first time going here I had the nachos, I found that they were tasteless, I used a lot of the sauce they have on the tables to give it that spice I was looking for. Second time going I decided to get the chilli and again I found it tasteless. Third time I decided to go with getting a burrito. It was good and I enjoyed it and it tasted different. I didn’t find it anything special to make it stand out to be somewhere I would chose to go to over other placing in Glasgow though. My husband still loves it though!

My guy and I were in need of something to put in our bellies mid pub crawl and decided to not only get some food, but more booze to go along with it. We decided to hit Pinto as it’s an easy food fix and they have a meal deal of a main dish and two boozy drinks for a tenner. We opted to go for the deal, plus ad on another main dish as we didn’t want to sit in Pinto to drink after the one drink. We both went with burritos and I must say that although we make pretty good ones at home, these hit the spot for what we were looking for. I went with a Brazilian beer and my guy opted for the margarita, which he said was pretty woeful at best. I did warn him as Sophie K. and I had already tried their margaritas and they were watery, no ice, just coolish green liquid that kinda resembles the taste of a margarita. The beer I ordered was tastey enough– think corona. I think it was still quite early when we arrived so there was loads of seating available. By the time we left, the place was hopping. Simple service, simple foods, no brainer for a quick meal.

It’s a bit pricy when you realise that it just bread, rice, beans and chicken, also the price doesn’t even include a drink. The staff there do not smile and do not tell you any offers available. It would have been better if there were staff toilets out of customers view, instead of seeing them coming out of the kitchen to go the to toilet!

It’s my first time to try classical Mexican foods. I ordered a pulled pork burrito, which is mix rice, grill pork, cheese, vegetables and some sauces, folded with a tortilla. Very delicious with unique flour!

I liked my first experience of Pinto, busy is always a good sign, crazy busy gives you proper time to read the lunch menu ;) I went for vegetarian burrito, which had tasty black beans, and I paid extra for guac(love it, make it at home too., weakness for avocado!). I enjoyed my meal but was a bit disappointed with the level of spice, I chose medium but will know better next time as I prefer hotter. No matter, that’s easy to fix and it’s great that they cater to lots of taste preferences. They even have low carb options for those who prefer that!

I love Pinto and was so disappointed when I moved to Manchester and realised there wasn’t any down there! So tasty and filling with lots of options — I usually go for burrito though. I wish that you didn’t need to pay extra for guac but never mind. I have sat in with friends and alone, and been comfortable in both situations. I am only giving it 4 stars because of the pricing, it is fairly expensive for a quick lunch compared to Subway etc but much more satisfying.

After reading Elizabeth F’s review that there was another one of these, not just on Gordon Street, but a bigger one on Queen street, and Briony C’s great review. I decided to try. I asked for a quesadilla, the girl said they don’t make them, I the other shop. I decided to go for the chicken burrito and can of Irn Bru combo. I thought it was going to be small and thought £7 was too much. But when I seen how big it was, it was well worth every penny. I’m not being funny. But this is the best food I’ve had in Glasgow by far. Thanks to both of you for maybe giving me a new addiction here:) Not one thing anyone could say about the food here. Simply awesome.

I’m one of the very few people who doesn’t feel the Pinto love. I’ve been put off this branch lately after being shouted at by a staff member when I walked through the wide open door ten minutes before they opened. Why open the door if you’re not actually open? In the past I’ve tried the soft tacos, burritos and chicken tortilla soup and found them all fairly dissapointing, hot and spicy but not very flavourful. It’s also really expensive for what you get. This branch doesn’t sell quesadillas which is the one thing I do like from Pinto so I usually head to the small branch on Gordon Street(though I still think £4.50 is a ridiculous price for a bit of cheese and salsa on a tortilla!) On the bright side I like the cheerful interior of Pinto and it’s a comfortable place to hang out with friends and have a casual bite to eat. But if I’m at this branch I’ll probably just have a drink!

This is the original Pinto, and my favourite. It’s the one I seem to visit the most too, and I like that it’s consistent and tasty. I always order the same thing — pulled pork bare burrito with a small amount of black beans, pico de gallo salsa, cheese, sour cream and added crunch. Sometimes I get guac too, if I’m feeling extra spendy. Unilocal tells me that I’ve checked-in here 20 times — I’m sure I’ve been more, Before Unilocal entered my life. In all those visits I can only remember one visit where I was let down by the standard of the food as I found it a little cold even though I was eating in. I visited yesterday for a takeaway bare burrito on my way home from Edinburgh and got my food quickly. I can’t say the staff are super friendly or chatty but they get the job done and that’s fine by me. I got home about 20 minutes later, put it all on a plate and microwaved it. Can I just say I never realised how big their portions are until I put it on a dinner plate?! It more than filled the plate and I couldn’t eat it all(I can normally eat a whole one when I sit in so the portions might be different sizes, or I’m just extra hungry after playing roller derby which is normally when I eat-in). Prices are fine(about £6 for a bare burrito with added crunch), they have a loyalty card which means I’ve eaten lots of free burritos and the place is a decent option for a fast sit-in meal when you’re on your own.

5 Stars on Taste — 2 Stars on Price… While Pinto is a dream for all Mexican food lovers the price leaves A LOT to the imagination. A burrito can and usually will set you back £8 which was more then reasonable for the size you use to get, however as of recent I have noticed smaller and smaller portions of the good stuff(pulled pork ect.). I really do hope Pinto return to there old generously served sizes

I had been in town for a few hours getting my hair coloured at the Rainbow Room on George Square so at 7pm I was starving. I haven’t had a Pinto in ages and thought the perfect quick dinner on my way home. I got the pulled pork burrito with mild salsa, cheese and sour cream. To my disappointment when I got home the pulled pork was so dry it was grainy! Really disappointed about the quality of my burrito. Hopefully the quality picks up again. Hmmmmm

I love Pinto. I’ve been more than a few times and I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for this location. I needed to fix this. It’s a really simple system at Pinto. You go up to the counter and order. They start your burrito and pass it along the line to assemble it. I’m always hungry when I go in but the steaming pots of meat and bean always make me even more hungry for the delicious food to come. The workers are not always chatty because it can get very busy, but they’re always helpful. The questions are pretty simple. Pinto or black beans?(Pinto, they have bacon) What filling? What salsa? Cheese and sour cream? Anything else?(Go for the guacamole. It’s worth the extra 75p) Speaking of how busy it gets: you may need to queue but it’ll never take as long as you think it should for the queue length. I do like to go when it’s quiet though as the workers are always friendly when they actually have time to be so and not just so busy they can barely take orders fast enough. It’s so filling and such a good price. The margaritas are only one but I really like the lemonade. I’ll be honest in that I usually just get a can of soda. The extra hungry can get double fillings or a side of tortilla chips, but I’ve not bothered. I had one earlier today and writing this review makes me wish I could get another burrito. It’s just that good. I need one in the west end. Get my regular if you want. Burrito: pulled pork, rice, pinto beans, hot salsa, cheese, sour cream, guacamole. Also feel free to add some of the garlic hot sauce. It’s all so good that I’m dreaming of it and losing my ability to articulate. Mmmm, Pinto burrito.

Rude rude rude rude. «the menu is above»”. … I asked for a menu to take home. Evidently I see the huge menu. Why do people answer a question with obtuseness? Ahhh well. My visit to weegiville from Edinburgh. :(

I love char-grilled chicken. I love burrittos. Combine with some spicy sauce and I’m one happy guy. The restaurant itself has always been pretty busy when I’ve been in — but service tends to be fast. It’s cheap but good, and it’s really handy that they do take away — more burritto times for me!

WOOHOO Love it! Mexican food thats delicious and well priced! Thank you very much Pinto! The resturant totally reminds of me chains in the states. I don’t really know how to describe it but it just does haha. The food is good, similar idea to Chipotle in the States(and London). Get in the line and they put on the toppings as you pass. I got a tasty Chicken burrito with gauc ! YUM Love it! Will be back again!

Finally made a trip to Pinto yesterday. I am late to this experience it seems with the 30 plus reviews on Unilocal already. I was very much looking forward to trying the now famous Glasgow Burritos that they offer. I went with a pulled pork burrito, pinto beans, sour cream, salsa, cheese and some sweet corn. The portion is huge! I went for lunch and I was surprised at what a challenge it was going to be to try and finish my portion. The food itself was fine, nothing spectacular in my opinion but tasty enough. The restaurant itself seemed a bit dull and grubby inside. I think I will probs have another Pinto at some point, but I won’t be rushing back as there are loads of other places offering better and more interesting take away food options in Glasgow these days in my opinion.
