Pets-cetera

Good for pet supplies, toys and novelties but only sell a few goldfish and Guinnea pigs. They often have a few rabbits etc in boarding for their holidays, so that would be a bonus if anyone’s looking!

Ended up back in here for a food top up whilst we waited on our bulk delivery coming. Also wanted to chat to them about litter, as the one we bought (not from here) was a bit smelly. The girl working there that day directed me to ‘World’s Best Cat Litter’, which I’ve heard is amazing but it also really expensive. Again, they seem to be stocking really high quality, tried and tested products. Didn’t end up buying it, went with a cheaper but similar product from online. Noticed they have some natural treats for cats, rather than the normal ones that can contribute to cats becoming overweight. Popping in for some of those tomorrow.
This place is open until 6pm too, which is really handy for popping in after work.

Extremely handy shop that sells everything I need for my two cats. From the obvious things (food etc) to excellent toys (I had previously searched the far corners of the Internet to purchase these particular toys) to cat friendly cleaning products and drinking fountains. I’ve seen it all here on the shelves of this little shop.
I would have assumed that a visit to pets at home would be required to find all of this stuff in one place but I was compleltely wrong. Of course it doesn’t cater only to cats and I’m sure the same holds true for dog and rabbit owners.
Very friendly owner (s) helped me pick out everything I needed. Definitely recommend checking this shop out.

This is a fantastic, cute little pet shop, just off Dumbarton Rd in Partick. They sell a wide range of products and give really good advice too. The employees are really friendly and don’t mind me chuntering on about my cats. They even look at my cat photos sometimes :-)
They stock James Wellbeloved Senior cat food, which is the only food that my wee sensitive cat can tolerate, so that’s handy. And yesterday when I popped in, I bought a covered cat litter tray. It’s a long story involving a stressed cat and some glitter, but the girl gave me some great advice about how I can encourage the cat to go into it.
The only thing I’m not mad keen on is that they usually have bunnies, in quite small cages. However, the girl who runs the shop is a massive fan of rabbits, and I know she loves them and looks after them. I’d take a guess that she probably lets them hop about the shop when the doors are closed to customers. I hope she does anyway. I’ve been when she had her own pet bunny in, sitting on the counter. And I know they’re rehomed rabbits too, and they also do a pet sitting service. So I guess the bunnies are in good hands.
All in all, a very good shop, with great friendly service.

This small but pretty crammed pet shop is a real delight for the likes of us pet-​owners, especially us that do not drive or have access to a car. We can’t all hike out to the unnamed pet MEGA store that usually inhabits retail parks & it’s name rhymes with Vets Who Moan… you know the one. They’re all well & good but I’d rather give my hard earned dollah to guys & gals like the Pets-​cetera peeps. Support your local businesses and all that JAZZ.
The staff are SUPER friendly in here. I was once in here about 15 mins talking to the girl behind the counter about hairdye; she is always very sweet & they’re always willing to help you find what you’re looking for.
As well as selling the usual pet foods (for cats, dogs, rabbits, rats, budgies, hamsters, ferrets, fish, etc.) and treats they also sell toys, cat scratching posts (I got one for my furry boy here & very good it is indeed), beds (not human ones, silly), collars, leads, bones, balls, pet medication/​treatments for health conditions/​fleas/​worms, cages for small rodents, sawdust, bedding and THE BEST catnip toys ever; Yeowww! If you have a feline friend then do them a favour & buy them one of the many Yeowww! catnip-​filled toys — they have wee fish, cigars (Disclaimer: I am not condoning pets smoking), bananas, rainbows & many other daft shapes to keep your moggy entertained. My cat goes totally chicken oriental over them! So good they are that one day upon purchasing one for my fluff baby & putting it in my coat pocket to take home suddenly a nearby cat followed me all the way home, nuzzling me & jumping up to me the whole time! There was me thinking I had finally made the upgrade in life to Angela: Friend O’ Animals when I then realised I had the catnip fish in my pocket! Doh. Oh well, made me smile.
They also have a small selection of fluffy (and not so) wee animals for sale in here; usually hamsters, rats, rabbits & fish. They’re all SO cute & I am constantly surprised I never end up going home with them all in my bag (what a mess that would be!).
So, aye. This place = very good. Go now & treat your 4-​legged/​finned/​furry friend today.

Ever since we got our puppy Leo (nicknamed Bug… no idea why!) we have been regular visitors here for the constant replenishment of destroyed toys, food & hundreds of puppy pads.
It’s a great wee shop which seems to be run by a couple of youngish girls. There is not a huge selection of items but more than enough for a lovely local west end shop.
You can but virtually everything you’d need here for you dog (and cat if your inclined that way ;-) food, bedding, toys, treats, collars and leads etc and it’s not ridiculously priced — in fact it’s pretty reasonable. If you are on the look out for a small pet you can also buy fish and small furry things with tales.
It’s a lovely wee shop and a much nicer environment that the big soulless pet stores.

I’ve been visiting this shop for two years now, ever since we got our latest dog, and I have never once been dissatisfied with the service. The staff are welcoming and friendly and ti’s okay to bring (well-​behaved) pets in with you, which is very useful if you your dog needs to try a harness on for size before a purchase. If you aren’t able to check sizing they are happy to exchange items like these if the fit is poor.
It’s a fairly compact little shop so don’t expect the greatest variety of items, but for the space they have they really do pack in a great selection of cat, dog, rabbit, gerbil, bird etc. products — treats, clothing, collars, leads, food, bowls, toys — they’ll have at least one of something and they often offer to order an item in if they’re out of stock. The shop is bright and clean, items are easy to find — and the bunnies by the door are always nice to see. ;) Definitely recommended.

I love a good pet shop. Cute animals, a sense of magic, and a smell of shit all combine to add an element of occasion to any visit. No matter how many rabbits, hamsters and goldfish I see, it never gets boring.
Pets-​Cetera delivers the standard charming pet shop experience, with the usual selection of rodents, birds and fish on show. Unfortunately, they don’t do any of the more exotic pets such as snakes, lizards and tarantulas, which I tend to find even more fascinating than the fluffy rabbits. if they add such creatures to their menagerie, then they’ll get bumped up to my much sought-​after five star status.

A dinky wee pet shop in the West End with a pun for a shop name?
Yes please.
It’s clean and tidy inside, with the sound of a vaccuum cleaner being common all the times I have been in. It still smells like a pet shop, but what are you going to do?
There’s a modest range of pets in here, with some wee fish and furry critters just when you walk in on your left.
On the right, you have a wee counter with pleasant staff and the rest of the shop is committed to a good range of pet food and accessories like dog leads and bird cages etc.
A good wee shop that has the charm you would expect from a wee local pet shop.

I’ve been in my fair share of pet shops, but this was my first experience of a West End pet shop. Needless to say, it didn’t disappoint at all! Even though this is on the small side, the space is managed well and it has a wide range of stock. Ranging from a good selection of animals themselves as well as all the food, treaties and paraphernalia you could ever require/​seek to find.
The few occasions in which I have been in the staff have always been friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Since discussing pet shops with other people (and I have a friend or ten who currently own pets…), they have ALL been super positive about this shop too.

Despite the almost painful pun in the name, Pets-​cetera is a lovely pet shop. It has that perfect pet shop smell that hits you as soon as you open the door, and takes you right back to your childhood. Mmmm, doggy smell.
They have a selection of gerbils, rabbits, fish and birds which are sooooo cute! Well, maybe not the fish. They’re more fishy than cute. They have lots of animal food, treats and toys as well as cat beds that looked so comfy I was a little bit jealous.
Slightly dodgily, though, Pets-​cetra sell a selection of dog outfits. You know, the kind that Paris Hilton et al can regularly be seen enforcing on their chiwawas. Now, I know I’m not alone in this when I say that this is quite clearly a mean thing to do to your poor pet. I passed this section by quite quickly…
All in all though, apart from my two complaints (the pun in the name and the animal outfits) Pets-​cetera is a great pet shop. It’s inexpensive and a lot friendlier than the huge pet store chains that shall remain nameless. Next time you need some pet treats or accessories — why not visit an independent place like this?

Okay, I must admit I’m quite a sucker for pet shops. I’m probably one of those annoying idiots who tinkle the bell in a whirl as they rush in and spend roughly three hours simpering over the various fish and rodents on display. I wouldn’t know though, I’m far too much in a daze from just how cute the animals are OMGZDIDUSEEHOWTHATMOUSERUBBEDITSNOSE!!!
Ahem. Well, Pets-​cetera is no exception — it’s chock a block full of the fluffiest rabbits, the squeakiest guinea pigs and a bunch of cheery little birds. It also stocks a good range of small animal feeds and treats, and even he biggest simpering animal loving idiot like myself can find a unique treat to entertain themselves and torture their pets with — like dog accesories and outfits.
Worth a visit — even if, like me, you don’t own any pets at all…

This pet shop is located very near to Hyndland Vet surgery, and is within a short walking distance of Kelvinhall tube station. It can also be accessed by buses on Dumbarton Road. Although it is a fairly small pet shop, it has a good range of pet supplies, especially for dogs and cats. It also sells rabbits and guinea pigs, and gerbils. They have a good range of specialist cat litter, dog treats and leads and toys. The owner is very friendly and the whole shop has a lovely cosy feel to it. The only negative is that some items can be overpriced such as the dog and cat beds and toys. The shop, although being on the ground floor, is not suitable for wheelchair users as the floor space is very narrow.
