One day it’s a polling station. The next a wedding venue. My flatmate even does her Zumba here.
That sums up Partick Burgh Hall. Originally built in 1872, this prominent, multi-purpose building stares across WoS Cricket Club, and still holds the respect of the local community. Just last week, for instance, 20 people had to be evacuated from a nearby fire, and the doors were thrown open so they could receive shelter until the early hours of the morning.
Open at fluctuating times, designed to suit around the modern-day schedule, there’s always something going on — be it the weird, the wonderful, or the downright wacky.
