Moda In Pelle isn’t a shop that I go to often but I used to pop in now and again if I was browsing Princes Square. Now I avoid it like the plague. I’ve never really found any of their window displays very inspiring but I adore shoes and can never resist seeing what different shoe shops have on offer. A couple of years ago I was looking for a pair of summer wedges and I saw a gorgeous tan pair here, they had little patterns cut out of them, and were exactly what I was looking for, I couldn’t believe my luck! A couple months later the sun was out and it was time to get my wedges on, they were great and much comfier to walk in than the looked. The next day I went to put them on the little clasp fell away in my hand, I couldn’t believe it! They weren’t cheap and I couldn’t believe they would break so easily, I’d only worn them once! Seeing as this was 2 months later, I wasn’t sure whether to take them back or not, for a start Moda In Pelle only offer an exchange, no cash refund and I couldn’t find the receipt either. I’m hoping that it won’t be too difficult to fix and I keep meaning to take them to a shoe repair shop to see if they can do anything for me. I will get round to it one of these day, as I really like my little wedges. I wouldn’t recommend this shop, their shoes are pretty cheap quality but the price tag certainly isn’t!

Oh I really do not like Moda In Pelle! It is a shoe shop which I think just doesn’t fit the whole feel of Princes Square. The décor of the shop is trying to be glamour boutique but it ends up looking tackier than Katie and Peters wedding, and we all know how that’s ended! Most of the shoes are so over the top and it is difficult to find anything classy and sophisticated. I much prefer the Kurt Geiger store where you can find unusual, on trend shoes which are well made and chic. The boots in Moda In Pelle I find particularly unpleasant. In fact sometimes I go into the store just to have a laugh at the boots although I’m sure Liz from Coronation Street would love them! I don’t find the staff particularly pleasant either. I get the feeling that they are looking down their noses at me and I feel like shouting, «This isn’t Manolo Blahnik your working in sweetheart!» One redeeming feature of Moda In Pelle is their collection of Sex and the City folding ballerina shoes. I had been looking everywhere for a pair of folding pumps for when I stumble out of some place at some god awful hour in the morning and have to walk to the taxi rank. All the ones I found online were really plain, boring and expensive for how they looked. The Moda In Pelle collection is however, very pretty and I spent ages choosing between the«Carrie» pair and the«Charlotte» pair. I eventually went for the Carries and at £30 I’m pretty pleased with them.

This is a small designer shoe shop that has some really fabulous shoes. Most items are quite expensive but not over priced. You can often pick up something really out of the ordinary here and it is very much high fashion. Staff are nice and shop is always spotless. I always like to check out the window display when I go past to see what new things that they have in. They also sell gift vouchers because I bought a friend some recently for her birthdat so that she could put them towards a pair of shoes that she had seen. I have found though that they don’t hold a lot of stock, so if I see something I buy them straight away if I can afford to.
