Not sure about the whole NY vibe they got going down on the website, but i’d have to fire a wee ‘aye… was fine’ in this bar’s direction.
Located in a funny wee spot off Sauchiehall Street (you’ll find most of it actually looks on to Sock in a hall Street), this wee upstairs joint claims to a Gin Joint/​Bourbon Bar and Boogaloo… but ends up just feeling a bit like the bar just off Sauchiehall Street.
The vibe of the place ain’t really hit it’s stride yet… kinda like the new kid in school (Sharks or Jets, Jets or Sharks?). In terms of décor it stil feels a bit new out the box… with a good chance that the box was bought in IKEA… trendy by numbers?
Christ… did i really give this place 3 stars? Aye I did, and you know why? Well let me tell thou dear Unilocaler/​muggle or other:
BOOM — Table service
SHAZAAM — Über nice staff
POW — Schizophrenic juke box… in a nice kinda ‘whoa, can you really follow that song with THAT song?
All in all a nice enough wee place. Can imagine it’s gonna find itself quite busy once peeps find oot where it is, however it’s maybe just a wee bit too central for my liking… not enough old man vibes, nae coal fire and too shiny shiny.
