Laura Ashley have some stunning home wares and I would love a whole house furnished with this girly, homely chic but it’s a tad too expensive for my student funds. I did manage to persuade my mum to buy me some stunning wallpaper from here, it’s brown with blue flowers. Sounds horrid but it’s gorgeous and so it wasn’t too overpowering I just papered one of my bedroom walls with it so it made it stand out a bit more. My mum used to drag me in here when I was younger and I haven’t really appreciated the beauty of the items until the past couple of years. They do gorgeous furniture, wall paper, lamp shades and many more goods for around the home. They also do pretty good sales and last year I managed to pick up some pretty bed spreads and pillow cases for a fraction of the original price. I can imagine Laura Ashley in the homes of domestic goddesses but sadly I’m not quite there yet. One day though, one day.

I have rather horrible memories of my mother dragging me into Laura Ashley to drool over the clothes. I did even once get a tiny, satin, floral prom dress type number for Christmas one year as a ‘treat’. As a bit of a tom boy preferring jeans, big boots and stripey t-shirts(unfortunately, my style hasn’t become all that more sophisticated) this was an itchy, constricting nightmare. In fact believe I ended up spending that Christmas in my jammies that year. Now, though I can appreciate Laura Ashley despite all the floral patterns and pink shades. This being in the furnishing and home décor department, rather than clothing. Laura Ashley has the most amazing wallpaper, pretty lamp shades and bed spreads. Lovely patterns, subtle, pretty and just right to add that little bit of ‘individuality’ to your flat. Sadly, they also cost a pretty penny so it’s more of a sale time haunt for me(as it is for many others). This branch in particular is a little out of the way, it has to be said. However, it really did make a visit to relatives in this part of town all the more pleasant and rewarding. Well, you know it was a bonus. Obviously, the relatives were the best thing about the trip… if anyone asks.
