Really nice café near the University of Strathclyde. During a busy day testing air quality(sounds exciting, right?), I was famished and of course took to the app to find a nearby place to eat. The good reviews and good value of Joanna’s brought me in, and I was not disappointed. There’s an excellent selection of fillings for baguettes, but I was offered and accepted the special of the day, a roast turkey baguette, complete with gravy, cranberry sauce, and salad. It was fantastic. The turkey was warm and moist, the baguette was crispy to just the right extent, and the cranberry was an excellent complement. The staff at Joanna’s are friendly too! Coffee was only okay, but it was more than compensated by the excellent food and service. Will be back.

Finding gluten free options around Strathclyde Uni has been challenging. Joanna Goodbite offers jacket potatoes with a variety of toppings, and soup and salad.(For gluten eaters there’s a variety of sandwiches and burgers too) I had a baked potato with cheese and Mexican chicken. They checked the tub from which the chicken came for gluten, so it’s definitely not house made, but it was alright. It’ll do in a pinch!

Joanna Goodbite takeaway has its own loyal little community of mostly Strathclyde students, which keep the place busy day and night. As the student of a different university I still like the take away for its burgers, yeah they are nice. Burger lunch is something I often look forward to, and also the three bean chilli. They sell a little bit out of the ordinary, if you know what I mean its not just paninis and rolls, they have something to offer. Takeaway and sit in are both options, and with nice staff that will perk up your day, what more can you ask.

You’ll be hard pushed to beat a breakfast roll from Joanna Goodbite’s. A tasty sausage and egg doubler for £1.50– bargain. I usually go here for lunch at Uni since I’m mostly in the building directly above it, so its convenient and good value. I could choose the other few shops beside it but Goodbite’s is just far superior. The paninis are top notch, and the home made flap-jacks are to die for. Yum! Great wee café and take-away, and an institution amongst students of Strathclyde!

This long running café is a decent option for a bite to eat on the go, particularly for those studying at nearby Strathclyde University. The food is better than average although this is reflected in the larger than average prices and long queues at peak times. There are a handful of seats but you must be quick to nab one. I particularly recommend their soups. I went through a spell of eating here every day and found the choice to be varied and consistently delicious.

Joanna Goodbite is an excellent little eatery that serves up a fresh selection of homemade dishes, from sandwiches to salmon, with ever changing specials. The food here is a cut above your average café, with amazing salad that is superior to the limp lettuce that you might expect, with a salivatory selection of sun dried tomato, fresh rocket, spinach, pesto and Mediterranean vegetables to name but a few. You’ll always find a pot of hot and tasty soup to fill you up on the go, to be accompanied by one of their delicious sandwiches, quiches or filled baguettes. The food is good and the service is smiley. Perfect.

This is a great wee place. Always busy, and always reliable. The staff are hardworking and enthusiastic, really friendly. I love the rolls and bacon, they really set me up in the morning. £1.40 might sound like alot, but it’s amazing. A quick roll and bacon is hit and miss most places. The seating inside is really good too, and it’s always clean and tidy. The menu extends to include good salmon and their salad is always fresh. Recommended place for a quick breakfast or lunch.

This little café used to be about 100 yards from where i studied, so I ended up nipping in for a fair few snacks over the period. It’s the usual sandwich shop fayre on offer here, baked potatoes, baguettes, maybe a home-made lasagne if you’re lucky, but it’s the hot breakfast rolls that win it for me. Joanna Goodbite is among the only places i know that actually cook their bacon crispy, rather than piling on rubbery rashers with disgusting stringy fat. Go for a lorne sausage and bacon doubler with plenty of butter. Utterly satisfying and only £1.50

Joanna Goodbite is quite evidently the best name for anything ever. I think I’ll find me a man called Mr. Goodbite, seduce him, and have a child called Joanna. No, I don’t care if it’s a boy. He would have got laughed at anyway. Joanna Goodbite is situated in the wee row of shops under Strathclyde Uni, and as such is busy at all times of the day with those smelly studenty types. A couple of units along from Roland Butter, it does seem to be the more popular of the two. It sells the usual lunchtime fare: baked potatoes, toasties and even hot dogs. I nip in every now and again for a wee sandwich or snack for lunch and I have no complaints. A blackboard outside announces«£1.50 doubler hot rolls», and although I’ve never had one, my friends have and they look and smell yummy. A constant stream of builders also seems to frequent the place for a hot roll or two. A couple of tables are crammed in, along with a row of stools at the window. It’s cheap and quick, so what more can you ask for? Much like Mr Goodbite’s opinion of me.

You know how it is — you’re just up, you’re late and you need something to eat. And Joanna Goodbite, perfectly positioned on Strathclyde Uni, solves the dilemma. Offering fast-food with a healthy tinge, everything from soups of the day, potato scone rolls and jacket potatoes are up for grabs. Quaint outdoor seating is a nice touch, but the view of builders’ arses and constant gridlock might make you want to take refuge inside.

Un bon plan junkfood en centre ville. Les burgers sont simples et efficaces, le hot dog est très bon. Le tout est très gras et attention, il n’y aura probablement pas de place assise.

Very friendly staff in this city centre coffee and food shop. They do an excellent Mocha at a very good priceespecially if you get in before 9am when all the coffee prices are about 30p cheaper. Quite a wide range of breakfast and lunch foods. A handful of tables inside and a few outside(for the occassional sunny day) and the overall feel is pleasant, efficient, friendly with food quality and range above average.

This is an excellent spot for a quick lunch. The sandwich choice is not very wide but is uniformly very good, from panini to freshly made. The baguettes are particularly good and a pleasant change from the standard supermarket variety seen in most sandwich shops. Other options include hefty burgers, soup and daily vegetarian and salad specials, such as 3 bean chili and salad nicoise. I highly recommend the sweet chilli chicken with salad.
