A pleasant family style business in the eastern part of Glasgow. The staff is very friendly. The prices are pretty cheap, so it is easy to get a full meal at a fair price. I ordered the breakfast which came with an egg, sausage, ham, beans, black pudding, toast, and a coffee. Everything was acceptable. This was the first time that I have tried black pudding, and I wouldn’t hesitate to try it again.

This is probably the best chippy I’ve found in the short time I’ve been in Glasgow, the place unpretentious and down to earth, the owner and staff are all really helpful and friendly. The fish tea is up there with the best I’ve had in Scotland, delicious and fantastic value for money. I can’t think of anything better than tucking into that after having a browse around the Barras.

Absolutely fantastic place Steak Pie suppers are to die for. Has a real ’50’s style inside the café, and staff are freindly enough. Café has small seating area for those sitting in, and also has disabled access as well. Prices are very reasonable, quality of food is good. Only gripe is that takeaway portions are on the small side.

A decent enough chippy for a take-away that I have been to a few times on my way to a gig down at the Barrowlands. The food is reasonably priced, in the context of Chip Shops of late where change off a fiver being a rarity and extends beyond just fish and chips. The décor isn’t particularly glamorous, but then neither is the location, which is about all that faults this place really. Wouldn’t fancy sitting in, with some drunks from nearby pubs and bus stops often kicking around here.

One of the few traditional fish tea places left in Glasgow. Naturally for Glasgow everything is deep fried. So don’t go if your on a diet. The same family has owned it since the 60’s. They are really friendly staff, and you can have some good banter with them as well. They use schoolgirls and older ladies as waitresses, just out making a couple of quid and their service is superb. carry out meals are very cheap during the week, £2.00 any supper during the day. But if yuor down the barras, sit in and get the great feeling of being there. i also suggest you try the bolognese, its amazing ;)
