Gillian Kyle

The website rings true when it says ‘Gillian Kyle is a brand new company offering unique, design-​led giftware with a big dose of humour and a large dollop of nostalgia.’
A graduate of Glasgow Art School, Gillian’s designs are fun, quirky and a lot of them are quaintly Scottish.
I came across the designer when I’d seen a couple of people with canvas bags decorated with a design of a giant, shiny, Tunnocks tea-​cake. I knew it would be the perfect gift for a friend’s birthday so I tracked down the bag with the help of Google. I was impressed to see a wide selection of bags, tea-​towels and t-​shirts on the website, and even happier to see that Gillian sells her products at local events including Sloan’s Market (next to Zara on Buchannan Street) every Saturday and Sunday.
