Very good and very strong coffee, a nice place to rest and people watch. There are outside tables for warmer days. Loses a star as some of the furniture is a bit tired(hole in the sofa, piece missing from the bathroom tap) but the café is a nice space, with huge cakes on display(most labelled with ingredients). Friendly, cheery staff. Will return for cake. Was just in for coffee this time!

Don’t go if you want to be skinny. For real! Your dentist will hate this place, your jeans will be tight but you’ll want more. Its not your fault. The cakes look good — yellow pineapple tart, caramel toffee apple slice, sticky strawberry tart, black forest cake, meringue mountains… you get the idea. This is matched with decent coffee and your usual selection of teas. Did I mention they also sell ice cream? And paninis, which as a matter of fact are rather delicious. For a panini. The shop itself is clean and well presented — not exciting but who is looking at the carpet when you have a sexy bit of sugar in front of you?! The service is fine — you wait, you order, they sometimes smile, but you get your stuff prompt and they leave you alone to chilllll… which I appreciate. Oh and late opening hours! This is a big bonus as so many places close between 5−6pm but not Coffee Patisserrie, the Willy Wonka of cakes — they keep serving until the moon is high and your belly is hanging out. Just as it should be.

I love this place. It’s a comfortable, reasonably priced place to grab delicious noms and well made coffee. The pecan pie is sublime as is the Equis ice cream. I wish I worked here cus I’d sleep in the patisserie case and be dead from sugar over dose by morning.

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been walking by this coffee shop at warp speed on my way to and from work ever since it opened just after New Year. I’ve often slowed down long enough to peer longingly in the window, drawn in by the impressive shop front, admiring the comfy warm interior and awesome cakes. This shop boasts a fine selection of tasty, sweet treats. They don’t appear to serve anything savoury, so this would be perfect for anyone like me with a sweeter than sweet tooth. When I sauntered up to the counter, I was greeted by a lovely server behind the counter who was happy to engage in a wee bit of banter. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any non-dairy alternatives to milk, so I couldn’t have a hot chocolate, but as they had a nice selection of tea I wasn’t too bothered. Confronted with the choice of so many beautifully presented home made desserts, I was stumped. After ogling the plethora of dainty delectables behind the glass for some time, I finally ordered me a nice Caramel Apple Pie and a strawberry /mango tea and settled to chill out with my book for a wee while. Total price? The handy dandy price of £3! Fantastic! According to the shop window, this lovely new establishment also provides cakes to order, including wedding cakes. They’re definitely worth a wee look in if you’re ever in the area. Support the purveyors of perfect pastries! :P
