A china buffet King is never on a list of places that l would ever go to or visit. One late afternoon one of my friends who is mean with money suggested that we go here and that’s the only reason that l went. China buffet King seems to have died of death in Glasgow where they used to be literally on every street. Trends and novelties change as most people don’t eat that kind of food. On the buffet there isn’t really a selection everything is battered and coated with a different sauce with exception to the chips. The food in the hot holding counters are not holding the food warm enough so food served is usually Luke warm. The only canned drinks on offer is lager, they don’t serve Coke or bottled drinks they prefer draught that taste rank. Not a place l would ever go to again. Should be really zero stars.

Okay so let’s just get one thing perfectly clear before we begin. I have a list of every restaurant I’ve been to in my life and I intend to review every single one on Unilocal.so I’m sad to announce that China Buffet King is on that list, and was visited before I was an established name in food critique in my previous life many, many years ago… regretfully. So I was essentially dragged to this joint a few years ago by a group of immature wee bastards from my high school — they considered this, well still consider this to be a decent dinning experience. what a bunch of wee fannys! they never grew up. Anyway even at the time I wasn’t expecting much, as I remember the restaurant is two floors and we were seated upstairs in some of the most basic uncomfortable wooden chairs at a table that looked as though it had never been properly cleaned! I mean need I even go on? I think any self respecting person would avoid this place — you don’t even need my one star; and I’m a very fair critic!

I went there a couple of weeks ago. What a lot of rubbish food I didn’t think it could get any worse. They have replaced a lot of the Chinese food with seafood. The pizzas that they sell was cold and I have got better out of the bin or on a Saturday morning from the night before. Then the best thing was the chips yeah chips no kidding the rest was foul, the chicken was slimy like slime, the meatballs taste like they come out of a tin, and there is not much else even the custard tastes cheap Avoid at all costs Went back today 12th Dec and was equally disappointed, pizzas Luke warm and I set up a test and the 1 hour 10 mins I was there they was never changed. When I asked what make are the desserts they looked at me clueless. Above the 2 heated elements it gives names of the food but sometimes you could tell they was wrong. The pork was very very dry and the chicken was opposite it was slimy. I think I’ll stick to world buffet King, china buffet King used to be lovely his times have changed

So China Buffet King is I will admit the king of the buffet, but man do you feel pretty crap when you leave. The restaurant is nice, a lot better than you would expect from a Chinese Buffet considering the state of some Chines es that you will venture into for a takeaway. Everything is very clean and all food dishes are regularly kept up to date by the waitresses bringing whole pot loads of food to fill them up. The catch is that you are likely to consume you healthy calorie intake for the year, the fat content of the month and your sugar levels will hit the roof. That is to say it is much like other Chinese restaurants, with rather fatty food saturated in oil. It has all the bases you would need for a Chinese to be enjoyable, such as noodles, fried rice, fried rice with bits in it, and don’t let me forget, chips. You have then a barrage of coloured sauces, and yes the ice cream machine will round your meal(or should I say gorge) off to a nice end. Yes, you will eat so so much here just to get value for your money, then if you are lucky enough for the strawberry cheesecake to have defrosted by the time you finish your main food, you can get your hands on a few slices of that. So I did exaggerate a bit, if you can control yourself, there is a very large salad section to which you can add to your meal or have as an alternative, you would have to have iron will power with all these fatty goodies around to eat.

I am a total foodie but I can’t cook to save myself. As such I love going out for meals as much as possible. As a food lover and I’ll admit it, even a bit of a food snob, I should hate China Buffet King, but I don’t! Of all the branches in Glasgow this one is by far the best. Is it the most authentic or best Chinese in Glasgow? No of course it’s not. The hint is really in the name… it is a buffet. When you’re hung over what do you want? A delicious meal cooked by a Michelin star chef or stodgy, greasy, slimy sludge that you wouldn’t touch any other time? The later, exactly! China Buffet King has all the stodgy crap you could ever want! Brilliant! Now there is a little trick to getting the most out of your CBK experience. If you book a table before 7pm you pay a pre theatre price, however all the good stuff comes out after 7pm. Stuff like shredded duck pancakes with hoisin sauce! What to do is book a table for 6:30pm and pay the pre theatre price but hang around until after 7pm for the more expensive good stuff, genius! You get to eat as much as you want for little more than a fiver. The food isn’t the best but what can you expect for that price? If that doesn’t do it for you there is also a Mr Whippy style ice cream machine with a variety of sauces and sweetie topping available. Hangover? What hangover? Last but not least, when you go to pay the bill there is a little dish of complementary mints, take as many as you dare!

A good cheap chinese restaurant — it can get busy and crowded around the buffet area. Food is always hot and a good variety. Prices vary on what time you eat, and the evening buffet has a hugh selection to choose from.

This restaurant are brilliant! Even the service are excellent from their staff, even the food are delicious. I was in there for the first time, and I expected it to be horrible, as I am not too keen on Chinese food myself, but this have proved me wrong, as I have enjoyed experimenting their foods, and I can be able to eat as much as I want to, as it is only £10.99 per head. I would go back there again, for the next time, I would not bother taking my breakfast and lunch. So I can have my dinner and fill myself there! Haha!

As with most buffet places it’s probably not the highest quality food but it wins on speed and choice. There’s no waiting for your food to arrive — just go and get it once you have a table. Good selection of dishes, a couple of soups and quit a few desserts. Picking exactly what and how much you want is the reason to go here. Staff have your dishes off the table almost before you’ve put your fork down but you just grab a clean plate and go again. Fast, easy and as much as you wantsoft drinks are the usual overpriced item.

Lunch time is a bargainous price of £6.49 and this includes as many plate fulls as you can can manage. Staff are attentive and are helpful. The day I visited there were 2 types of tasty soup, lots of cold meat, salad dishes, herring, shrimps, plenty of rish dishes, chow mein, chicken balls, ribs, sweet and sour dishes, curry sauce, black bean sauce, even chips. Once you had managed all that there was even dessert — black forest gâteau, chocolate gâteau, swiss roll, cakes galore, apple strudel, custard, jelly, fresh fruit salad, melon, orange, pineapple, delicious ice cream with toppings. Really too much to mention and is a bargain for lunch. The price increases throughout the day and Sunday there is one price all day but it is worth a visit. All the food is freshly cooked, hot and tasty I will be back.

Really great for a Chinese buffet, you can always pick out good ones from the number of Chinese people that also eat there, this one was really nice. Food was good and reasonably priced, drinks also reasonable. The staff were attentive and quick to clear any plates from your table as soon as you’d finished but without rushing you.
