Quite possibly best takeaway pizza in Glasgow! We used to live just up the road(until very recently) and will miss the pizzas from here; all freshly made with tasty ingredients allowing you to stipulate exactly what you want. Garnished with oregano — lovely touch! Yummy indeed.

Occasionally my job means I work in a well known wine shop 3 doors up from this fine establishment and it’s pretty hungry work. My colleague recommended a wee trip to Casa blanca to try out what she referred to «chicken on a stick — but in a good way!!» So I have and I can confirm that it is delicious. What my beloved collegaue meant is a skewer which they grill to order. It’s succulent and flavoursome, comes with a pitta bread, salad and some pretty fine pakora style sauce. Not cheap, but then again you’re in the west end — it cost £4.30. That said, I’m full and not wanting to nibble on anything else. Quick, clean and friendly, I shall return when I’m working in this neck of the woods. Worth a try for something which is head and shoulders about your regular greasy chicken based takeaway craving filler!

One of the better takeaway pizza places in the West End, Casa Blanca has been kicking around Hyndland for years and has developed a strong reputation in the area. While other dishes are on offer, few choose anything other than a pizza with the choice of toppings a little more extensive than you might imagine from the somewhat understated surroundings. Family run and friendly, Casa Blanca exudes something of a neighbourhood feel in an area almost entirely devoid, directly at least, of late night eating out options.

This little pizza place has helped me through many minor catastrophes! Monster hangovers, girly nights in moaning about that loser ex boyfriend who you caught snogging the face of some ugly blonde trollop with ridiculous boobs(bitter, moi??), premenstrual munchies, those nights when you’ve had to work late and the thought of having to cook for yourself makes you want to cry into your Marc Jacobs tote bag(which, by the way, you couldn’t afford). This take-away is owned by an Italian family and you can see that the second you walk in the door. The staff always have a big welcoming smile for you and make your food right in front of you which I personally find reassuring! Casa Blanca doesn’t just serve pizzas but in my opinion you are mad if you order anything else! Their pizzas are the true Italian kind, all thin crusted and jam packed with toppings. The walls are covered in Casablanca movies posters and I am embarrassed to say I had no idea what the connection was until at least my fifth visit. Casablanca… Casa Blanca, get it? A medium pizza will cost you anything from £5.50 to £9.60 depending on your choice and number of toppings. But after the day/night you’ve just had you deserve a little treat right?

My boyfriend and his best friend have always raved about this place, and persuaded me one lazy evening to order pizza from here. At first I was impressed — when I saw the interior decoration and the impressive pizza making process(they’ve got some serious robotics on the go!) I thought that this was no ordinary takeaway… Especially when I saw exotic choice you had for toppings(by takeaway standard). Roasted veg, parma ham — a little bit of italy maybe??? Maybe not. I thought my pizza when I finally got it was soggy and not even up to Domino’s standard. Still, it was a much nicer experience I’ve ever had in a takeaway before, so I can’t be too critical. Give it a go, and judge for yourself!
