Burger Van

While not exactly a spot for a first date, the burger van on Cathedral Street serves its purpose by providing students with a cheap option for a quick bite.
Hamburgers and hot dogs are what it does best, and if you do find yourself dining here then may I suggest you complement them with a heap of onions.

There’s something about that burger van taste that sometimes just hits the spot. Perhaps it’s the ubiquitous onions they lump on, perhaps it’s the pure fat they use to cook, or perhaps it’s just the indisctriminate «meat» you suspect goes into your burger.
Whatever it is, theres definately a time and place for it, and as this little van also seems to be one of the only places you can get a decent hot dog in the city centre, it gets my vote.

As a rule, I never get food from somewhere on wheels. This place is the exception. I don’t know the name of this van — it doesn’t seem to have a name, but it’s been doing a great business here for years, perfectly placed between the Met college, the college of Commerce and Strathclyde Uni.
Stu always said it was great — he once got a roll and slice, cheese, onion, totty scone and brown sauce for less then £2. Disgusting? Yes. But also genius. Once I was sure the van was at least reasonably clean, I got a bacon roll. They cut the fat off the bacon for you! I hate bacon fat, and they cut it off for me! How posh!
The staff invariably get your order wrong, but just keep an eye on what they’re doing and all should be ok!
