Having eaten here a few times in recent years, after being an early-adopting fan of the takeaway, I’m really sad to see Buddy’s in such a state of decline. We popped in for dinner just a couple of days before Christmas and it was deader than disco. We were seated immediately, in a big booth, even though there were only 2 of us. We were informed that several items were«off» including ribs and all pork items, which was disappointing as I was really in the mood for ribs. Instead, we opted for chicken wings starters and steaks for mains. The chicken wings they were accommodating enough to cook plain for me and they tasted good, very charcoaly, but nice. They were not the 3 large chicken wings advertised on the menu though, but about 8 small ones. The steaks were pretty terrible. They were chewy and grey. The waitress had asked us how we’d like them cooked, which we both asked for medium. Why ask if you’re just going to do them well done anyway? Disheartened but famished, we ate them anyway. The accompanying fries were good, but hard to get those wrong. The onion rings were a bit too greasy but were at least homemade. Really disappointed in Buddy’s — a victim of their own success. If only they hadn’t expanded too quickly, they might have been able to maintain quality. As it is, I don’t think I’d be hurrying back anytime soon, as there are just too many better options for American food elsewhere(everywhere) in Glasgow.

The original Glasgow burger joint has been round the corner from my home for over a year now and over that time I have visited on more than one occasion as well as using the takeaway service. In the main the food is great, The Bubba with a side of cajun fries and fried pickles being my go to on those rare occasions I’m not feeling adventurous. Sometimes there can be things off the menu which is sometimes a little disappointing especially when you have something in mind but the menu has evolved suitably and as a result there is always something to choose. My only disappointments have been the poutine, perhaps even more salty than it’s Canadian inspiration. All in all though it’s one of my go to hangouts in the Southside of Glasgow.

Buddys definitely on a downwards slope for a fair while now. The last couple of take always I’ve had have been thrown together by staff who cared more about their banter than doing their job and yesterday’s visit to the actual restaurant was little better. We arrived and were seated fairly quickly(although the place was deathly quiet, I remember having to wait for 40 mins or longer to get tables before) and wanted to order ribs(one of Buddy’s main specialities) to be told that there were no ribs because«the smoker is broken». Apparently it’s been broken for a while and we were told they didn’t know if it was going to get fixed… not good news. We went up the road to Brookly Café and had a fantastic plate of ribs, really hope the Buddys Management team pick up the slack soon and get their standards back up to where they used to be

Went in here after a bottle of run and a half six bedtime so by the time i had cycled nearly home i was ravenous. Walked in and the place was pretty dead, only 2 other customers but the hunger was needing fed so i sat down and hoped it aws just a quiet sunday. got the menu and thought ooo might as well go with a buddy’s special as you cant go wrong with a burger named after the place. It was a burger with cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, caramalised onions and mushrooms. I also had sweet potato fries with maple syrup. The burger was nice enough, mushrooms were lovely and the caramalised onions were quite well done and the burger worked but it wasnt superb and i have a pretty high bar when it comes to burgers. The sweet potato fries were lovely but with the combo of the maple syrup it was just too much. Good ol tomato sauce won out! The staff at buddys were very nice however as i wanted a takout of deep fried dill pickles to go and they arranged this and asked about my meal and were generally quite attentive and up for a chat. Its a solid 3 and if i could give it another half star i would.

Ahh Buddy’s !! My little go to haven when I need a good feed at a reasonable price. Actually the first place we headed to when the BBQ phenomenon became popular in Glasgow, and we can’t stop going back! The lunch deal is incredibly good value, a top quality burger with fries and a drink for £5.95. You’d pay more than that in McDonald’s these days for processed rubbish! I ALWAYS go for the Western Burger. A juicy burger with cheese, smoked bacon, an onion ring and their own BBQ sauce. It’s so good and I’m scared to try anything else and be disappointed! The Cajun fries are spicy and crispy, and are perfect with a little side of Mayo to dip them in. The Western Burger actually won Glasgow’s best burger 2013 and I can see why! Buddy’s is a cracking feed for an even better price, and I’ll be back again and again!

I think it’s safe to say that when you’re having a bad week, a great way to improve it is to head to Buddy’s with your mates! This was my first trip, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’ve heard so many good things about it, I was really keen! We turned up around 8pm on Friday night, to find the place a lot less busy than we expected, which was good for us as there were 8 of us. We waited for around 10 – 15 minutes while they prepared a table for us, and in the meantime we perused the menu, which was full of burgers, including winner of Glasgow’s Best Burger 2013, and a range of meats from their BBQ, like pulled pork, brisket and ribs. The restaurant itself is very much designed to look like an American style diner, with red and white décor, leather booths and seats. The diner is split into two sections — at the front is a large, central bar with limited seating, and at the back a full restaurant area, where we were seated. We sat down at our table and ordered drinks, while I sat painstakingly trying to choose what to have. I ended up opting for the Smashin’ Burger — a 6oz patty of house blend meat with a mustard rub, topped with sauteed onions and double Monterrey Jack cheese. To make it extra special, I added pulled pork for £3. The burgers don’t come with fries, so I ordered a portion of garlic fries and Sam ordered a portion of the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. After drooling over the menu, it felt like an agonisingly long wait for our food to arrive, but realistically it was probably about 20 minutes. The food arrived diner style in plastic baskets and red & white striped paper — no cutlery necessary!
The burger was cooked medium, which I always prefer as it means the meat stays nice and juicy. The pulled pork was flavoursome and tender, to be honest, after a tough week, it was exactly what we all needed. The garlic fries were delicious, most likely using garlic salt. If you can’t handle much garlic, these aren’t for you, but if you do, they definitely hit the spot. Just don’t breathe too close to anyone after eating them! Sam’s sweet potato waffle fries were more like crisps, and were served with maple syrup, which sounds weird, but works so well! Along with a couple of drinks each and including the tip, the bill came to around £20 each, which might seem a little steep, but for 2 glasses of wine, a burger with extra meat and a portion of fries, I couldn’t really complain. I understand why Buddy’s has a reputation for providing tasty, uncomplicated food. We might be becoming overrun with too many burger joints here in Glasgow, but I think Buddy’s is hopefully one that’s here to stay!

Buddy’s is a great Southsiders treat! I have been three times so far and would most definitely go back. The food has always been delicious and the service is first class i have never had a bad customer service experience there. Even when on a busy friday night when i didn’t know there was a corner for waiting for a table. I marched right down to where the tables in the back are to have a lovely waiter explain how it all worked without embarrassing me(it must have looked like i thought i was Kim Kardashian.) Wether you are going in a group or on date night, buddy’s is great!

To be fair, I enjoyed their takeaway a few doors down so much better than our meal here the other night. I’m not sure I’ll ever venture back to the sit down part of Buddy’s, as the chefs are different and the staff are just slow and not very friendly. My boyfriend and I had been off doing our own thing with friends and once back at home decided that we should probably think about dinner. For a while, Sundays have been our takeaway night and we usually opt for Chinese, but we’ve both gone off it we’ve been eating so much lately, so I suggested we take a stroll down to Buddy’s for some BBQ. When we walked in, the place was pretty empty, only two tables of two people were filled. We were sat right squished in between the bar and the kitchen door, not really the best seat in the house with so many others open. The server came right away and took our drink order, and someone one else brought us the drinks. It was literally about 10 – 15 minutes until someone else finally came to take our food order. My boyfriend went with the Carolina Poutine and onion rings and I opted for the sliced brisket sandwich and the mac and cheese. Remembering how absolutely divine the sandwich I got from the takeaway was(even after i reheated it in the microwave), I was drooling in anticipation of the same sandwich… or at least something along the same line. Our food finally arrived(not very quickly) and just by looking at the sandwich, I could tell it was different. The meat was sliced rather thick, there was what looked like a gravy on it and there was no dressing what so ever. The pickles were proper dill pickles and the onions were pickled, which was fine. I always start out taking a bite out of just the meat alone to savour all the flavour. HA! Oh, I was so disappointed before i had even taken a bite out of the full sandwich. The meat, or maybe the gravy was so beyond salty, it was almost inedible. There was no taste of BBQ whatsoever, just this salty gravy. The mac and cheese was good, cheese on top put under the grill to crisp it up. My boyfriends poutine was pretty tasty as well, with pulled pork on top, but the onion rings, I thought, were gross. Pure grease. I took one small bite and that was enough for me. I could feel my arteries clogging. I was pretty bummed out about the meal as a whole especially since I’ve been talking up the BBQ sandwich to my boyfriend for quite some time now. He didn’t mind his food and finished up whatever I didn’t eat(which was much of the sandwich) but I’m not fan and probably won’t be coming back to the sit down diner. I’ll need to give the takeaway one more shot to make sure it wasn’t a fluke– jeez, it was just so much better than this. Day and night, really.

I really wanted to like this place, especially since they had jalapeño poppers! Being from the States, I always order jalapeño poppers, yum! However, these were not the poppers I love with a creamy cream cheese filling, but poppers filled with cheddar cheese. The cheddar cheese separates from the fat when melted, creating a jalapeño filled with hot grease(gross). On top of it the jalapeños weren’t even cooked through, they should be soft and melt in the mouth but these were hard and crunchy as if I was biting into a fresh jalapeño. I also got the western burger which was okay… Just okay. The burgers are extremely overcooked and the bun wasn’t very soft. We also had the cajun fries which tasted like frozen fries that were refried to order. Not good.

Buddys is just round the corner from where I live but this was my first visit. It’s styled like a modern American diner — music refused to stray from 70s and 80s pop rock, but the good stuff! It’s really clean and the girl who served us was lovely. I went for extra hot piri piri chicken burger. It’s exactly like you’d get at Nandos but minus the extra hotness I like — but it was still very tasty. Cajun fries though were superb! I’ll be back soon to give the veggie burger a bash.

It was well worth the wait! I had heard about buddy’s from loads of my friends not being a Southsider I had been to lazy to make the trip until recently. We headed in around 17:00 looking for a table for two we got told it would be a 30 minute wait hmmmm, this did concern me. However out of the corner of my eye I spotted a bottle of Cave Creek Chilli Beer and I knew all was going to be o.k. Beer in hand we got seated earlier than the predicted time and by that point we had decided on sides of Chilli Rellenos and Breaded Mozzarella. The tough decision was the main so many great looking burgers. I went for the brisket and boy I did not regret it the meat was melt in the mouth and just to my taste. My partner went for the Adobe Mushroom burger which seemed difficult to negotiate as it was so large. The only downside I had is that I wanted more I wanted all the things. The prices for the mains are great I can’t see why people would got to a fast food burger joint when this is on their doorstep. Now the better news they are looking into opening in the west end after the launch of their cumbernauld branch.

Went back after a wee while away, and the initial buzz had settled. Interesting to see it still pretty busy, I had wondered if it was going to tail off after the hype died down. Having said that, we were able to get a table for 4 without any problems on a Sunday evening but there were folk waiting for tables when we left. The clientele seems to have changed from the twitter crowd checking it out to more of a family atmosphere, which suits the space fine, although it does make the restaurant feel like a slightly better class of Frankie & Bennie’s. If you hate kids, or want something a bit more quirky, then it might not be the place for you. I got the impression that out of the 4 of us I was the only person who enjoyed what I had. I had the Western burger, which still had the«tastes like Burger King but better» feeling that I had with my last burger, and I didn’t have any complaints about. I shared a poutine and gerkhins, which I didn’t mind, although Briony did have an issue with the level of gravy on the poutine — she wanted more which she eventually got in a seprate rammekin. We did ask for this when we ordered it, but had ot do a bit of chasing to get. I did have a try of some garlic fries which were excellent. Overall, I didn’t dislike my visit, but I didn’t love it either. With so many other burger places in Glasgow, and with more to come, there are other burger restaurants I would go to ahead of here now that I’ve tried a few more places. Having been to both the original takeaway and here a few times there seems to be a bit of inconsistency that creeps in every now and again in terms of quality. That, coupled with the fact that the feel of the place isn’t quite what I’m after means that I don’t know if I’d make a concerted effort to go there, but I would give it a go if I was in the area and needed something to eat that I new would satisfy without being truly amazing.

My sister and I were have a stoat about the south side, starving and not sure what we wanted to eat, when we spotted Buddy’s and she insisted we go and have a look at the menu. I was sceptical, since it looked like a bit of a meat-fest from the sign outside, but I was pleased to find a vegan falafel burger on the menu, so we plonked ourselves down at a table and placed our orders. My burger was absolutely amazing, piled high with salad and didn’t fall apart like so many veggie burgers do. We shared a massive portion of cajun fries, which were really tasty and excellent value at £2.50. My sister had a cheeseburger, which she declared she enjoyed every bite of and we shared a bottle of fruity cider to wash it all down. Our waiter was really nice and appropriately attentive and, overall, it was excellent value, costing under a tenner each for a filling feed. I was pleasantly surprised by Buddy’s and it’s worth a visit for the chips alone!

I’d read/heard/saw the hype surround the original Buddy’s BBQ takeaway, and then the sit in restaurant for many months now. Even has it’s own thread on a football forum I frequent, fact fans. I’d never tried it, until this weekend. Initially a bit unsure about the whole«single bloke on a Friday night» in a restaurant taboo, a couple of mouthfuls of cold, fresh West beer St Mungo settled the nerves while I looked through the menu. I decided to not be a total gannet on my first visit and just settle for a burger and fries — so the famed Western Burger and Cajun Fries were duly ordered. At this point, I want to offer some praise for the staff, for a man next to me had clearly had one too many St Mungo’s and spilled half of it all over the floor on his way out, mumbling to me something or other. The guy who served me was over in a flash with a mop and then kitchen roll after he noted that he wasn’t really drying it, just moving it around. Also, there was a guy in with a toddler who’s idea of fun was running about the entire restaurant the minute his Dad’s back was turned. The staff coped perfectly well with him, as well as advising on portion sizes and whatnot. Excellent service. After a short wait, my food arrived. And it was joyous. The burger roll was toasted just to perfection, the burger itself was juicy and meaty, and the combined toppings of the Western Burger made for some good eating. And the cajun fries? Heaven! Actual spicy cajun fries rather than just some cayenne pepper tossed on at the last moment like some places I’ve been. I saw a table near me that opted for the«one of everything» route on the sides and non burger foods, and I have to say, the mac and cheese and poutine looked amazing. Next time, that will be on my list to try. Just under £15 for burger, fries and a pint of draft lager — perhaps a bit steep compared to some other burger places, but there’s much more than burgers to Buddy’s — I think to give it the full five stars, I’ll needs to return and dip into some of that glorious BBQ food as well. It is a *damn* good burger though.

I never realised that there where two of these in the area till l walked passed this one, with nearly an hour to spare l came in for a late lunch. On looking around l got the feeling that there was something missing maybe it’s because the walls where empty & the volume of the hi fi at level 1. I liked the tables but the seats had the remains of food debris all over, possibly an oversight by the cleaners. Service was quick I think that was down to myself being the only person there. I ordered the buddy’s special burger with a side of plain fries & a side of 6 wings with a cherries, coke and bourbon dressing. The burger could have done with a little seasoning and would have been very nice if it hadn’t been for the well done bacon, on eating the burger you could feel was. the crunchy bacon that was well overdone like having grit in your mouth. The fries you could tell where re heats & placed under a grill to re heat as some had browned unevenly, they where tasteless. The chicken wings where a classic disaster and resembled what could be only describe as chunky chicken legs, I’ve been cooking for over 25 years and never seen chicken wings this big, they where tasteless and even though l ordered a side dressing that had as much flavour was water, I have the impression that this place opened without much thought of the menu & interior, it’s such a shame as l think they have a great idea but not thought it through properly. My server was attentive but the rest of the staff where avoiding customers. Atmosphere 2 Food –1 Value –1 Service 4

Have had takeaway from Buddy’s on Skirving Street before but this was my first time in the restaurant. Popped in shortly after 5pm on a Tuesday evening after having arranged to meet my sister for something to eat that afternoon, so we hadn’t booked. Nevertheless, we got seated straight away. It took quite a while for them to serve us — we were looking around for somebody as we had been ready to order for ages and they hadn’t even asked us about drinks by that point, when we noticed that the waitress was only just taking orders from tables who had already been waiting when we arrived. I think she saw us giving her the hard stare though as she came straight over and took both our drink and food order at once. After that, the food came out quickly. We shared the jalapeño poppers to start, then I had the Buddy’s special burger and the garlic fries, while my sis had the Western burger and the plain fries. She had to send the fries back as they were way too salty — she asked if she could get them plain and add her own salt and they obliged quickly. The food was all pretty good, the jalapenos were great, the burgers were a good size(which, for me, means that they’re not too gargantuan, I like a burger you can pick up and get in your gob with no problem) and plenty tasty. The garlic fries were okay but I think I’d stick to plain next time. The portion of fries is pretty massive so it’d be easy to split one between two. The atmosphere of the place is kinda strange though. From the music they were playing(quite loudly) it sounded like we were meant to be in an American diner from the 1950s with a big jukebox in the corner. But the dark red and black décor is a little stark and it didn’t really feel very comfortable. It isn’t trying to be trendy, it isn’t trying to be cosy, I can’t really figure out what it’s trying to be but I didn’t find it a particularly relaxing place to eat. To be honest, it was fine but it didn’t knock me out. The burgers were definitely the best bit, but still — I think you can get better burgers at other places in Glasgow. Whether you can get better burgers on the Southside though — that’s the question and it’s probably the main reason this place should do okay.

Oh Buddy’s, I hoped for so much and got so little… We’ve visited the takeaway on Skirving Street quite a few times and always enjoyed the delicious burgers so we were pretty keen to try out the restaurant when it opened. Having heard that they don’t take reservations we decided to go for about 4.30 to beat the rush. Our party of 2 were seated just to the left of the entrance in a small area by the bar with a few small tables and our drinks orders were taken straight away. It’s important at this point that I note that right away there was something a bit ‘off’ about our waiter. He seemed distracted and was very abrupt when taking our drinks order. Nonetheless, our drinks came quickly and, having decided that we were going to order some jalapeño poppers, a cheeseburger and a chicken burger and some poutine to share, we waited for our waiter to come back to take our order. Then we waited some more, and waited… While we were waiting we observed our waiter spend quite a bit of time checking his phone, chatting to other staff at the bar and seat other diners. Basically he did everything but take our order. We also watched him on more than one occasion walk up to people who had just come in and then, rather than seat them, turn around and walk off to talk to staff at the bar. Very odd behaviour indeed. After 25 minutes of waiting and asking another waitress twice if someone could take our order our waiter finally decided to come over and take it. Greeted with a «What do you want?» we ordered our food. Then waited another 25 minutes for the food, during which time we wondered if they would actually give us the right order as the waiter never bothered to read it back to us(standard practice in almost every restaurant I’ve ever been in). Our food arrived and indeed they had got the order correct. Which was rather unfortunate seeing as everything but the burgers were terrible. The poutine gravy was far too thick and the jalapeño poppers were completely without spice(quote of the night goes to my husband–«They taste like courgettes filled with cheese»). By the time our food arrived the restaurant was filling up fast and it quickly became evident that their no bookings policy just doesn’t work. People waiting on tables crowded round the bar which meant they also crowded round our table as we were seated right next to it. Not exactly the best atmosphere in which to eat. We weren’t the only people to suffer long waits. Every table in our area had people waiting ages for orders to be taken or bills to be given. I overheard the people at the table next to us wonder at one point if perhaps they were meant to order drinks at the bar. The icing on the worst metaphorical cake of my life was when our bill came. In a rush to just pay it and get out we failed to realise until we were driving home that they had overcharged us by about £5. Buddy’s has created quite a buzz for itself on the back of its takeaway, it’s just a shame that their restaurant has completely failed to live up to that. They are still excellent at making burgers but, given the rubbish sides and completely abysmal service, I won’t be in a rush to revisit the restaurant any time soon.

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t impressed with Buddy’s as a takeaway — after trying it once, I wasn’t inclined to return. I’ve been reading good things about the restaurant here on Unilocal and wanted to see how it was for myself. We headed along around 5.30 on a Thursday night and got a table for 2 without any problems, although it was pretty busy. There are two dining areas — a space at the front which I would say is the nicer of the two, and a rear area down a few steps. The décor of this rear area gave me the feeling of being in a generic chain restaurant — a mash up of McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC perhaps. It’s the exposed brick walls, plain red paint and the stainless steel handrail running around the room. And the fact that part of the space is sunken and feels like you’re eating in a gladiator pit which is a bit unnerving. Added to this is the fact there was a manager/supervisor who stood at the top of the stairs for most of the time we were there, watching over the tables. He didn’t seem to be actually going over to tables to check if they needed drinks/food though, it was more just a watching thing which was, again, unnerving. I’d checked out the menu and knew what I was going to get thanks to Joe P’s expert guidance. Fried pickles with ranch dressing, a cheeseburger(for me) and Carolina poutine to share. We did consider getting chips as well but with some advice from the waitress we stuck with this order, and Graeme got the Western burger for his main. I’m glad as this was a lot of food for two people! Starting with the fried pickles, these came out searing hot and a good sized portion of 4 for £3.95. These were really tasty and the dressing with them was really nice. I would definitely get them again but I will say I prefer them with a blue cheese dressing like they have at Meat Bar. It took a while for the rest of our food to arrive but the wait wasn’t so long that we were uncomfortable. The burgers looked really good when they came out, with a nice bun and a good amount of lettuce which seems to be unusual for Glasgow’s burger scene. The patty was really thin which I normally like although this meant it was cooked well done and I prefer it with more pink. There is a lot of burger sauce on it though, so I think this balances it out and I loved the taste of the burger sauce and lettuce which gave it a real freshness rather than making it a greasy stodge-fest. For £4.95 for a cheeseburger is a really good price and I found it really impressive. I did notice that our Caroline poutine didn’t seem to have any gravy so I checked with the waitress who took it back to the pass. Seeing as we were sitting right next to the pass, it was interesting to see the guy’s reaction which seemed to be to say that there was gravy already on it. Honestly, I had a good poke around, and there was none on it. Thankfully the waitress asked him to get more gravy put on anyway and brought it back over absolutely smothered in gravy. You can see what I mean from the two photos I uploaded — one before and after. Without this gravy I think this would have been a really average dish but the gravy is essential and this ended up being the highlight of the meal. I think if they were always this generous with the gravy this would quickly become a massive addiction for me, I’m still thinking about it today. One more thing I must say is that our waitress during the night was absolutely exceptional — I wish I knew her name(it was on the receipt as Samsung 2, which made me laugh). She was friendly, helpful, checked up on our table a good amount of times and got me that extra smothering of gravy. When we paid up to leave she made sure that she came over to say goodbye. She really went out of her way and that made our evening even more pleasant, after such delicious food. So yep, I’ve happily eaten my words. Buddy’s Restaurant seems to be a winner and I will definitely be back for more poutine with extra gravy. There was a couple of things which held me back from dishing out that extra star but it’ll be good to see how this addition to the southside goes.

Like a lot of fellow Unilocalers and Southsiders, when I heard that Buddy’s was due to open a restaurant(at the time, the takeaway was still suffering from its teething and inconsistency problems) I was rather sceptical, however I’ve never been as glad to be proven incorrect. We were lucky turning up at 7:30 on a Friday night in December to get a table for too straight away, as the rest of the joint was packed(no reservations here), and doubly-lucky that they had just got their alcohol licence the very same day. A couple of pints of West, brewed in Glasgow, Munich Red were a great accompaniment to the feast that was to come. Having really wanted to try poutine for ages, we split the Carolina poutine(with their much improved pulled pork on top of an amazing mix of fries, gravy, cheese curds and sliced spring onion) for a starter between two for £5.95 and it more that fitted the bill. Our mains consisted of a standard cheeseburger(£4.95), fried chicken burger with bacon and cheese(£6.50) and a half rack of ribs in spicy sauce(£5.95). It all came together and in great portions. So great that half the ribs came home with me that night via the Shed no less. The quality of the food and the presentation were both exceptional. I can’t wait to go back!

Got here at opening, just as well as within quarter of an hour it was hoaching. The décor was appealing and American-dinerey enough, and there was a cool looking jukebox beside the large bar counter. Once the council get their drinks licence sorted(why-oh-why is this taking so long for new places?) it looks like they will have a decent range of booze & the locals will have a quite stylish watering hole to compete with the likes of The Bungo and Mulberry Street. We were led down to the restaurant area at the back and were served promptly by the efficient and polite, though not very chatty waitress. The menu is essentially the placemat so we got right into choosing the options for dinner. I chose the Duke, the double-size — my size — version of the Western burger that won best in Glasgow 2013. My partner ordered the Glasgow Mega-Death Chicken Wings and we both ordered sides of cajun spiced fries. Everything came in plastic baskets! I was slightly disappointed by the quasi-crockery, but not by the service, considering the influx of people it was very attentive and fast. The first comment across the table was that the wings were big and tasted nice, but they weren’t particularly spicy like«Glasgow» and«Mega-Death» would imply, especially not when run together. They were more«Edinburgh One Direction». The Cajun spiced fries were damn nice and required no further condiment enhancement, to be honest though we both agreed one portion between two would have been adequate. The main event — the Duke — was certainly tasty, it was large, oozy, and cooked well. Only towards the very end did it come slightly apart. All in all, a very nice experience on a par with the best in the north of the city and at a similar price point. Is it the best burger in Glasgow still? Well a couple of newcomers are definitely in the same league.
