Boots

This is not my favorite Boots, simply because of how tiny it is. Most average things (such as toothpaste or body wash) are higher priced than the bigger stores. Usually the case with these small stores! They also have limited stock, not surprisingly.
However it is useful to just nip in if you need something quickly, it’s usually dead so you can get in and out in 5 minutes or less if you know what you need.
One thing I do want to pick up on is the staff. I’ve been in lots of times (just because I live close) so I’ve seen the same few faces lots of times. Two of the ladies are really friendly and helpful, and the pharmasist I’ve spoke to was helpful enough and told me what I needed when I asked. No problems there.
I do have a little bit of a problem with one of the assistants though — I do know here name but I won’t shame her. She seems like a nice enough person but she ALWAYS talks to her colleagues instead of me, never says how much the balance is (just expects me to know/​stick my card in), has never once really said hi/​bye, just generally quite rude… to the point when another staff member actually told her off once. Not the end of the world as the rest are nice but I always hate when it’s her at the till.
Anyway — fine if you’re nearby and need something, wouldn’t go out your way to use it when there’s a huge boots further up the street.

Just a quick review to give kudos to the lovely pharmacy team at this Boots shop. I have a regular repeat prescription which can sometimes be a bit confusing to order (due to my GP not knowing how their system works!) but the helpful staff at this pharmacy are always on hand to sort it out and ensure I have all the things I need.
Plus it’s a nice wee branch of Boots to pick up essentials without having to queue at the bigger branch further down Sauchiehall Street which is helpful as I work nearby and can pop in without wasting half my lunch break!

This is what l class as a woman’s shop and there is nothing more disorientating to a man by moving items from one end to another then you cant find what your looking for. Boots have most of their summer items out already when we havent even got over winter yet.

Every time my mom saw a charge on my credit card for Boots, she thought I was buying shoes. Unfortunately not.
But, this store was a great pharmacy when I was in school. Had pretty much everything I could have ever wanted.
The only suggestion was just a simple language/​slang barrier. Apparently «Q-​tips» are called «ear buds» and it took me a lot of repetition and hand gestures to have the store employee understand what on Earth I was asking for. Totally not her fault as «Q-​tips» are a name brand and it’s like asking for a «Kleenex» instead of a tissue.

Not as nice as other boots but does the job.

I lke this Boots because…
— It’s clean.
— The customer service is great.
— It’s spacious and continuously updated with new décor and new products.
— It’s well maintained.
— It’s big, and thus offers a good amount of choice on all perfume/​cosmetics/​medical products.
Most of all, I like this Boots because it has a good photo developing department and a great opticians! These guys have been my opticians for 7 years and I’ve never been disappointed. They always have sales on smart designer frames, the eye test is performed with minimal fuss, they have loads of new equipment and the staff are friendly and keep you well informed while carrying out your eye test.
They do this test now which blows my mind — they take a picture of the back of your eye! I got quite concerned when I had mine done because it looked as though I had loads of black stuff near my optic nerve. Of course I panicked, but was very calmly informed that it was because I had blinked when the flash went off. D’oh. So the staff are patient with people like me who go into a blind panic (no pun intended) over the slightest of things.
I feel like my eyes are very well cared for by the team, and Graham is such a friendly guy you can’t help but feel relaxed when you’re in his capable hands. I am blind as a bat but my eyes are are being looked after the best they can thanks to Boots. Plus, wearing glasses is cool these days, so at least now I can get me some hot librarian frames rather than the big owly NHS specs I was saddled with as a kid. Thank God for DKNY!

It’s not to love Boots. They accomplish exactly what Woolworths did with pic n’ mix, with toiletries.
This one has a huge perfume section when you first walk in the Buchanan Street entrance which can be a bit intimidating with folk lunging in your face to spray you with eau de Jordans thigh or whatever it is.
What you are left with, is a well stocked and brightly lit shop which is under-​represented in terms of floor staff. I did have at least once great customer service experience in here when I was hunting down a mirror that my Mum wanted that magnified so deep into your face you could see blemishes that didn’t even exist yet. It’s an evil mirror.
I would never have found it without their help though.
I dive in often enough to use their photo-​machine deelies.
Quieter than the one in Buchanan Galleries, and that is fine by me.

This is a decent little branch of Boots that isn’t usually too busy, so it’s ideal for getting a meal deal, as there’s always a good selection of stuff left.
Much smaller than the one down the road, it’s more of a local chemist for those living and working nearby to stock up on essentials. All in all, it’s a decent wee branch of Boots, if you’re in the area.

Ah Boots. Everybody loves Boots, right? And this one is probably not an exception. If it’s a little strange to have a Boots store on the part of Sauchiehall Street that is almost exclusively populated with clubs and restaurants — this Boots doesn’t show it. Instead it keeps on providing it’s normal service of branded make up, shampoos and other bath related products without a sound.
This place also has quite a good food section (I suppose it must do quite a good trade with the staff of the many nearby offices) — although it’s nowhere near as big as the food sections in the bigger boots stores (i.e. the one at the other end of Sauchiehall Street).
It also has a fairly sizable chemist, probably with a much smaller waiting time than the other chemists in the city centre.
Conclusion — this place is really useful if you’re in the area and need to pop in for something to eat and a couple of bits and pieces. But if you’re wanting to do a proper Boots shop you should probably just go along to one of the bigger Boots stores which are ten minutes down the road.
