Bobbi Brown cosmetics are not made by Whitney Houston’s crazy drug abusing ex husband as I previously thought. That is Bobby Brown with a «y» not and an «i». I always wondered how he got from rnb and beating women to cosmetics! No Bobbi with an «i» is a cosmetics genius! I love love love her make-up and used to buy it all online. However since this store opened I always buy from here instead as there is nothing like browsing round a good make-up store and being able to try things on and get advice from the immaculately made up staff. My Bobbi Brown favourites include the Cheek Tint in sheer coral and for my last birthday my mum got me a fabulous customised make up palette! This thing is a little stroke of genius! You get to pick a 3, 4 or 6 compartment palette and then select a combination of lip, cheek and eye products in your favourite shades to fill each compartment. I love my palette as it is great for chucking in my handbag or taking on holiday rather than taking a big make-up bag filled with full sized versions of all the products I use. I prefer this Bobbi Brown store to the near by Mac concession in Fraser’s as I find Bobbi Brown make-up more natural and flattering. However I would recommend a visit to Mac if you like to be adventurous and try unusual colours.

Bobbi Brown make-up is gorgeous! Pretty pricey but it’s all good stuff and the staff here really know what they’re talking about so you can pick up a few new tips as well as some new make-up. I was fed up of liquid eyeliner going all over the shop whenever i tried to put it on and explained this to one of the girls on the Bobbi Brown counter. She pointed me in the direction of Bobbi Brown«Long Wear Gel Eyeliner». That was two years ago, I use it on pretty much every other night out so it’s lasted really long! But to be fair, i’m not too much of a party animal and only go on a wild night out about twice a month, if that. But either way, it still goes on good as new and hasn’t dried up like some liquid based make-ups do. Their«Shimmer Brick» is also to die for and is nice even just to look at.

When a friend of mine took me to the Bobbi Brown concession in John Lewis so she could pick some make-up for her wedding, I was highly impressed by the ladies that worked there. They were incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable in their products. They were able to help my friend choose which make-up suited her skin tone and they even gave her a bit of a makeover– free pampering, me likey. I’m a big fan of Bobbi Brown make-up myself after receiving some blush and eyeliner from the range last Christmas. Bobbi Brown’s philosophy is to enhance women’s natural beauty rather than make you look ‘made-up’ so no bright pink lip-gloss here. Unfortunately the products are pricey– but you really do pay for the quality. Here’s hoping Santa is good to me again this year!
