I had one pint while the marathon drinker Friend of mine was on his 2nd. While he was at a slow bar, there was a woman to the right of me smoking a Cigar. I reported her to the bouncer as it’s against the law. Bouncer was fast to act, but should have thrown her out, but never. When I went to the toilets(restroom) there was a guy offering perfume sprays. This would be advisable to avoid the smell of urine that you are standing on. Pint was ok, too gassy, but that’s just me… a light weight usually a none drinker. Too many underage women, being let in by the bouncers, so breaking the law with under aged people and someone smoking. As the old TV Sharp alcohol commercial would say. «Time for a sharp exit» Only good thing, is that the décor looks better than before. I need the restroom again, can’t dread to walk on urine again. I’ll hold it in until I find another place.

Bar Budda has been around Glasgow for years opening and closing as quick as they open, sometimes only lasting a month or two. Last night was their re-launch that l attended with a friend that just arrived in town, at the door there must have been 10 members of staff trying to tempt passers by to come in with free shots of liqueur. On entering the bar took twenty minutes to be served despite the bar looking rather quiet, this was due to the bar staff being outside handing flyers to people leaving only a couple of staff to serve customers. It was obvious that there was no direction here or leadership from management as it was impossible to get served due to the amount of staff congregating at the opposite end of the bar, like a lot of customers we left after one drink. Music was really good whoever was the DJ was, and that’s why we stayed to be served, but sadly gave up as we could not get any service from staff. Bar was warm with plenty of heaters around the ceiling of the bar area. Overall music I would score a 5⁄5 The service was a let down. 1⁄5

Took my gf in here over the weekend for dinner and cocktails, and I have to say that it was fantastic! The new Management is really making a huge difference, and the new décor has really brought this bar/restaurant up to date. Excellent service. Amazing food and dessert. Really tasteful new cocktail menu to order from. Will definitely be coming back here

Loving this place thesedays. Been a few times before for functions, but have been enjoying a mid week trip for food using my beloved Snapfax to lubricate the experience. Super nice and cosy with good tunes and great service. Always quiet enough to get served quick and be able to have a good chat without feeling like folk are listening in to your conversation. Well stocked bar as well where their recent £2 a drink for January promo was a delight. New food and cocktail menu promised soon but I sure hope they don’t get rid of their amazing mains! Love that steak! Excellent value for money, with few joints on Sauchiehall Street able to rival the food at this price.

Gosh, I’ve been eating out a lot this week! First time at Budda this Monday night. I went with a friend and we left feeling a bit mixed. We both had white wine and for food I had the veggie burger with chips and salad, which I was pretty impressed with, especially for the price. I give that meal four stars. But my friend had the Thai green curry, which was really BLAH and came with a rather thin sauce. There was no veg or other elements of interest in the dish, just chicken, white rice and lame sauce. So since her dish was a two star(if that) and mine was four, I’m giving Buddda my first ever three star review. The service was four stars: friendly, pleasant, prompt… overall quite good. However, the atmosphere was two stars; while we were there, a group of folks were apparently refused service and a couple of the guys left the bar in a big rage, knocking candles off the table as they made their big dramatic exit. Oooh, you’ve knocked candles off the table, you must be furious, dude!!! So taking all of the positives and negatives into account, how could I give Budda anything but a three star review? I rest my case.

Bar Buddha is ok, it has pretty good facilities with pool tables and a pretty big bar. Although most of the chain has closed down I think this one belongs where it is. If you are on Sauchiehall St and looking for somewhere to go pre-club it is pretty good to go and hang out. The age range I have found is also rather diverse, I would say 17 to around 45. I will say this for them, they have tightened up security, a few years ago and bouncer-less, you would find a good assortment of 1st years who clearly were not 18 yet, but not it seems everyone is a bit more civilised. Drinks are not cheap, unless you look out for a deal, I never see any but there must be some? Inside everything is quite cool looking. The fact that they put football games on their huge projector screen is pretty good for a somewhat trying to be upper market bar(well at least more than an old man pub). But get there early because even though there are a good few seats, these get snapped up quick as it gets quite busy.

Meh. Ok not the best way to start a review but possibly the best way to explain the Budda bars. I would say the Budda’s are a safe bet, the kind of place you go with a big group of people if half of you want to go to Sleazies and the other half want to go to Campus. Although as mentioned by Darryl they can get pretty damn busy on an eve and the music can be a bit on the«Christ I’m deaf» side. If you find yourself in here during the day you can always check out the pretty decent menu, although you may wish to bring a torch to aide your eyesight when eating as the place can be a bit on the dark side at times, i always fear that my next bite will be the coaster. Anyway, as bars/clubs go on Sauchiemahall street this one ain’t too bad.

Free entry, but drinks were pretty expensive, and there seemed to be a bit of an issue with the lax measurements of pouring wine… Areas to sit and eat, or to relax, plus a couple of dancing areas… you could have a whole night here because of this. Whether you would want to is a different story! Not too shabby though.

Not long ago Bar Buddha units were popping up everywhere. The unique look and exotic feel of the place made it stand out from the crowd, and the future looked promising for the chain. Fast forward a few years, and the once jaw dropping décor just begun to look naff, and with thai green curry available for a pound at lidl, the menu didn’t look quite so eye catching. Subsequently, almost all Bar Buddhas have now gone, but like a haggard old showgirl struggling to keep up with her younger peers, this one keeps soldiering on with dignity. It’s dark without being seedy, and even if the buddha theme feels a bit old its a hundred times nicer to sit in here than in some of it’s frankly horrendous neighbours. Not particularly neddy, bar a few Caledonian Uni students, and with good drinks deals. Not bad all round.

Buddha is quite good. The décor is nice: dark and exotic with water features and plants in giant tubs. Up the back there are two pool tables and there are good-looking girls and flash-looking boys everywhere. £2 for a vodka diet coke, but no seats. I want to be a celebrity so I can go out on a Saturday night, have VIP access and actually be able to get a seat somewhere! And perhaps priority service at the bar?

Another Bar Budda, although this time on Sauchiehall Street! I quite like the Budda bar-chain. They’re instantly recognisable — the trademark gold lettering, and dark but not dingy interiors, etc. Service is always pretty decent, drinks aren’t too badly priced, and food is perfectly edible. Also, there’s something about the stools that make them really, really comfortable. My one big problem with this place is that it’s always packed, and the music is far too loud. If you actually want to to talk to who you’re with, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Good enough bar, ideal for a stop off pint before heading into one of the many clubs round about, service is patchy, but nonetheless worth a stop off

Not a bad bar but much the same as all the others. Could do witha wee revamp as its starting to look a bit tatty.
