Avril Haffron

Had my hair cut and coloured today by Megan.
Loving the finished look– rivals city centre hairdressers for cut and quality of colour but considerably cheaper. Will definitely be going back in the future!

My daughter’s hair was totally ruined at Avril Haffron’s Hair Salon, Kirkintilloch Road, Lenzie.
The girl who coloured her hair not only overlapped the bleach but told her she had plastered it on she then proceeded to put the heat lamp on it which caused further damage.
When she noticed her hair snapping off she went back to the salon and Avril told her that she would be the one who would be dealing with her hair until she was happy with it.
She received a complimentary conditioning treatment once a week to try and improve the condition of her remaining hair. She was told not to use her straighteners as she would cause more damage. She had to hold off as long as possible before getting her colour done again. Her hair continued to snap and break off, leaving the front and sides very thin. She had to get it cut short and darkened.
Without being able to use her straighteners she wasn’t happy trying to dry her hair straight so when she was going to a night out she booked in for a blow dry which she was charged £22.00 for.
5 days after colouring her hair Avril told her that she needed the back cut to retain the shorter shaped style. She was told to book in with a trainee or if she wanted to book with her she would be charged as she would be taking up her appointment time. A very different story to the promise she made when the disaster was discovered.
After telephoning Avril yesterday to tell her that my daughter wouldn’t be coming back to the salon after the way she made her feel on her previous visit, Avril did offer to cut the back of her hair for free.
Weeks after the massacre her hair is still falling out and snapping and there’s not a day went by that she’s not been on the phone hysterical.
I found it very hard to believe that this massive error could be made at a salon whose website boasts:
The salon was awarded the good salon guide 5 star award in 2000 and retained this award every year since. «
I contacted the Good Salon Guide for advice and they got back to me today to say that Avril Haffron isn’t registered with them any longer and they should not be making statements like the above as it’s false advertising and they will be asked to remove it!!!

If I wasn’t studying hairdressing at the moment and thus getting free cutts from fellow hairdressers then Avril Haffron would without a doubt be the salon I would visit.
A great couple own and manage the hairdressers and are great to chat too. The hairdressers always listen to exactly what you want and aim to give you the cutt that you want. Its true that many hairdressers tweak your design to suit their own needs, but this has never happened to me when visiting avrils hair salon. The salon also offers beauty treatments.
Price wise, they are competitvely priced.
