Argos

Ah Argos, the shop which doesn’t actually have any stuff in it, except catalogues and tiny pens.
I’m sure you all know the Argos code of practice by now. You search through the catalogue to find your item. Then you bip bip bip the item number into the machine and it tells you how many they have in stock. If they have stock you fill out what looks like a betting slip with what looks like a betting pen and take it to the tills. You pay for your item and then sit in what looks like the world’s worst theatre and wait to be called to collect your item from the desk.
Now is it just me or is that an awful lot of effort to go to for a shit kettle? If I desperately need a shit kettle right NOW then I will probably go to somewhere like Tesco and pick one off the shelf, pay and be done with it. Argos reminds me a bit of online shopping in that you are buying something which you can’t get a proper look at. I don’t know why people trek down to a shop to buy something they have never actually seen. Why not just buy it online, probably for a better price? Surely you can wait 3 days for it to be posted to you?
Clearly Argos is doing something right because they have been around for years! I’m sure this shopping concept must be serving some sort of purpose. I just don’t know what it is!
I do have to admit to the staff of this Argos being very helpful and nice. I saw a boy carrying a little old ladies bulky item out to her car which is always heartwarming. However I got as far as leafing through the giant catalogue before I thinking, sack this, I’m off to a shop which has things in it!

Good old Argos, it just feels like and old pal. The reason that Argos has been around for so long is because it does what may shops fail to do, it actually strives to please its’ customers, so if it’s a faulty item you’ve bought you will get your money back here no problems at all and they’ll probably throw in a £5 voucher for good measure.
Great products sold here, pretty much everything you can imagine will be in the Argos catologue, and at competitive prices too. If you see something in the catologue you can’t carry home or fit in your car then they will deliver it direct to your doorstep, what more can you ask for?
They also offer great warranty prices which are great, especially for expensive electronic devices.
Can’t really fault Argos, great stock, reliable and the staff are always helpful here!
