Apple Store

Been to this store on many occasions , to be treated disrespectful ,, no help what’s so ever into the bargain .. Genius Bar .. didn’t even no there’s an upstairs hence the help .. purchased a phone took my money but won’t fix my problem .. and into the bargain I have warranty on my phone .. Never once have they sat and told me the problem never mind fix it they act dumb or is it an act .. I have to give my whole experience on staff appointments waiting time a1 star for me don’t usually do reviews but I couldn’t scroll past without mentioning apples manor in handling a fault .. There products are way to pricey as they think they are untouchable regarding security issues , and won’t take any responsibility whatsoever I think apple has failed to live up to what they have advertised and sold and paid for a product to think you are going to be protected ...Apple you are falsely advertising.....

I think you’d struggle to find a bigger Apple fan than me. I love the Apple Store on Buchanan street. Friendly staff, amazing tech and great customer service. I took my Mac in when it broke down and was worried about the repair and cost. The staff took care of everything and had my Big Mac back to me within a few days. Lifesavers!
That’s why Apple are the best. Customer service here is second to none.

This shop is what you would expect from Apple. It’s spacious and well laid out, and feels pretty slick without being intimidating.
I like that there is always someone on the door who can point you in the right direction, or quite often, just answer your question straight away. I love that all of the products are on display and that you can touch and properly play about with to get a proper feel for them.
And the staff are just wonderful. I’ve been in here so many times over the years, sometimes with a very simple query, sometimes with something a bit more complicated, and I have always left feeling pleased with the outcome (and often relieved that my little Apple is not broken after all!) And I have never felt patronised at all. The staff really are just great.
I’ve been to a couple of their workshops too — when I’d got a new phone that had quite a few new features on it, and the workshops were really helpful, I learned new tips that helped me get the most out of the product.
One thing I didn’t know until recently was that they can faciliate phone upgrades for you too — I didn’t think they did that! I’ve just upgraded (to a iPhone 6+ of course) but I know where I’m going next time!
There is one thing about this shop that I don’t like — the glass staircase! I know it’s probably all to do with minimalism and that, but seriously, that thing gives me the fear.

I am a bit of an Apple-​aholic. I’ve been one for years and it’s actually getting worse over time. I started with an iPhone 3G and I’ve had quite a few since. More recently, I’ve become a MacBook user and I know I could never go back.
Now thankfully, I never really had any issues with my iPhones so I never really visited the store. However, with a MacBook sometimes things come up that need in-​person attention and I’ve always appreciated that I can make an appointment for the Genius Bar online and pop in and be seen to. Recently, my MacBook has been playing funny buggers and so I made an appointment. Annoying, Apple seem to want to make it difficult to get a Genius Bar appointment so the booking page has been hidden away behind many, many annoying menus and suggested solutions. I made the appointment on Thursday and the next available day was Tuesday which was a little annoying but as it wasn’t a fatal problem I wasn’t too worried.
Checking in is easy (especially if you were signed into your iTunes account when you made the booking) and you will probably need to factor in a 10 – 15 minute wait, as the Genius area is always heaving. The guy who looked at my issue (Adam) was a champion — friendly, chatty and most importantly, very helpful. He got it sorted without too much trouble and time, and I was off again on my merry way.
I really appreciate being able to get computer issues sorted then and there on the spot, without having to be without my MacBook and without having to pay. Apple may be a bit of a cult, but with customer service like that, I’m not going to leave any time soon.
Note: I resisted trying on any Apple Watches. I feel like this is some kind of personal achievement.

This place is like walking onto the set of Back to the future 2. Very futuristic. Staff are do you in record speed. Not to harass to buy, but simply to honestly help and direct. I’m really against how high a price is charged for accessories. But hey. That’s the companies fault and not the staff. Great place. They really do sell cool stuff for your phone. Ever wanted to turn your lights on using your phone. You visit here and that will be sorted:)

It sells shiny Apple goods and other accessories. It’s bright and shiny inside, there are laptops, PCs, iPhones, iPads, Watches, and more.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and upstairs it’s a little more like a café than a shop, with the genius bar and workshops running to help us all get a little more out of our Apple products.
I am an Apple fan.

Thankyou Apple! My Macbook charger was frayed at the end, and suddenly went out. Being an American student who uses my computer for online classes everyday and just moved to Glasgow, I did not have the money to replace a 75pound charger, but knew I would have to. My friend dragged me to the apple store, saying that I might get lucky and my charger could possibly be replaced. Right as we walked in, an employee directed us upstairs to where I could purchase a new one. I was bummed. I decided to try my luck, so we waited in the ‘walk-​in’ appointment line where another employee walked up to us and asked what the problem was. Telling him, he asked if I had applecare, and I did not, due to my computer being a 2010 model. He then walked over with a brand new charger for me to have! I was extremely happy and was a bit shocked that I received it even while not under warranty.

It’s a pretty/​open store and I love all the exposed brick. We usually purchase our apple products online but it’s always interesting to see what they do with the space they are using. This actually is probably my favorite apple store we’ve been in.
You can definitely miss it if you aren’t looking for it.

Great Apple store with really helpful hands on Tech support. I went in here a few times to talk about transferring all my information and contacts from my US iPhone to my UK based phone. The worker took me directly to the person I needed to talk to and there was no run around or hassle of buying anything additional, just basic guide on how I can do that through my iCloud program. Since I didn’t buy my UK phone directly from apple I was worried they might not be able to help me but they didn’t hesitate or want to charge me for a new contract or services (which generally happens at most apple stores in the US or over the phone with apple). Overall great experience and not to mention the building is pretty wicked! There are huge columns lining the entrance at the front and I must say this was one of the largest apples stores I have been to. Perfect location too on Buchanan Street :)

Ok, I’m done.
I’ve grown to have opinions of Apple products that aren’t necessarily the most praising but seeing as I’m not a fan of being biased, this is a review on the store, the staff and the service I have received here and not a review of their products.
The Apple store is situated about ¹⁄₃ to ½ way down Buchanan St, just a 10 minute walk from either Queen St Station and Central Station (allowing a few minutes of taking the wrong turn or walking the wrong way that is familiar to people who aren’t used to the centre of Glasgow).
The store is in a very large, beautiful building which is quite grandiose compared to the modern, sleek and almost flawless looking buildings that Apple stores are usually situated in, but as soon as you enter you feel like you have been teleported from the former to the latter.
The ground floor is very spaciously laid out, making full use of the large floor space which in turn can actually make the room seem quite bare and minimal. I’m not sure if this is the approach that Apple usually take as I have only ever been in 2 Apple stores but to me it doesn’t suit the size and power of what Apple stands for.
The service on the bottom floor, I’ve found, is very «techy». By that I mean that the staff are very friendly, overly enthusiastic (which is an excellent attribute and not a complaint like it may sound) about the company they work for and can make you feel like their entire bedrooms are filled with that little apple (why did they take the picture after someone took a bite out of it?)
Side note: The bite is out of the apple to provide scale so it wouldn’t be misinterpreted as a cherry, says Rob Janoff, graphic designer and creater of the Apple logo.
Back to it:
The Genius bar is where the magic happens. If you were to be given 30 minutes to cause as much internal damage to an iPhone (without taking a sledgehammer to it) and taking note of what you done, you could pass your phone to this team and within 10 minutes in their magical, sciencey Wizard chamber (the lab) they can tell you exactly what is wrong with your phone and, if there is a way to fix it, they can do it there and then (with a charge if you aren’t under warranty of course).
Any service I have received from the Genius bar or any other member of staff in here has been 5* and the only reason a star is lost is because I feel that the company could have done more to fill the room a bit more or chosen a different building to suit their modern and minimalist look.

It’s a classic apple store layout with nice friendly staff.
The only problem I have is that some of the staff can be quite clueless in terms of apple’s policies such as student warranties and special discounts.
Other than that it’s a great experience every time I go in!

Love Apple technology. If this was a review of Apple products then 5 stars it would be. Since this is a review of their store I am afraid it has to be lower.
This is a matter of taste but I don’t like the way the downstairs is laid out. I don’t think it is very engaging or customer friendly. I guess they think they don’t need that as the products speak for themselves, but for me it is all to clinical and bland. The brand experience in the store should be better IMO.
I was in on Wednesday as I had an appointment at the Genius Bar. It was to fix a problem I had already discussed with their call centre and got agreement that I would get a new phone that would be free of charge. However when I got there they still tried to charge me for a repair and I had to push then to read the account notes and make sure that I got the new phone I had been promised.
The Genius Bar staff member and her colleague I spoke to down stairs were both far from friendly and it seemed to be a hassle for them to be dealing with a customer. And another thing… The waiting room did not have enough seats! Moan, moan, etc, etc.
Clearly most reviews here are the opposite of mine, but for me it was a 3 star experience at best.

I am an electronics engineer so have a better understanding of these items than mostSo to all the elitist snobs who think this brand makes you better than anyone… then no youv’ve just bought into mass hysteria and hype propagated by a company with high profit margins… reality check folks these things are made the same way as the whitewash of other consumer electronics!!!

I. Have never. Seen so much ‘window shopping’. In all. My life.
I like the design of the shop, very clean and not cluttered with computer equipment and the staff are really friendly and obviously know what they’re talking about.
I went in for a mac book pro 15″ and ended up buying the mac book air 13″ as the kind staff assured me thats what suited my needs more. It’s nice to have a shop where the staff aren’t trying to pester you into shelling out on unnessesary stuff, for a change.
So now me, my Mum, Gran, Girlfriend and Auntie all have have iPads, iMacs and iPods, The worst bit is that iPaid.

I’ve always enjoyed owning an apple product, you get the feeling that apple is like the rolls Royce of electrical equipment but it wasn’t like that when they first arrived there was no customer support if anything failed.
I remember my first iPod that l purchased that only lasted two weeks before the software failed but back then that was the norm.
With my new iPod I must have dropped it several times on the pavement and it still works.

L’Apple Store de Glasgow se trouve dans un très beau bâtiment. L’intérieur est très spacieux et se développe sur 2 étages.
Pour le reste c’est la même chose que la plupart des autres Apple Store dans le monde. La décoration est belle et épurée. Le service client est excellent!

What can you say really, anytime I’m going to buy tech I buy it from here instead of their online store, visiting here’s always been a positive experience, with the exception of my last visit which is why I’ve gave it 4 stars and not five (I was told I would be waiting 20 minutes maximum for a small repair, waited for over an hour with no apology). Friendly staff, nice décor & nice layout!

I had a few problems with an icloud account, so I popped in looking for some advice: having walked in off the street with no appointment they sorted it there and then; great customer service.

As one of the world’s biggest Apple-​holics I’m surprised I have not yet reviewed this wonderful store. I had the first iPhone, but got rid of it as I wasn’t a fan back then. Since then, I got my first macbook about 2 years ago, and since then I have been absolutely obsessed. I’ve had iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs, MacBooks, oh God I’ve spent far too much money in this shop and I’ve just realized this…
The staff are excellent in here, and always try their hardest to satisfy you and get your products fixed/​get their products sold, and always do it with a smile!
I would suggest anyone who needs an appointment, especially if it’s a weekend, book it a couple of days in advance because they’re absolutely mobbed ²⁴⁄₇ it seems, and it’s difficult to get appointments with the geniuses upstairs.
(And a wee cool hint; if you have an iPhone and you’re in the apple store and want to buy something, you can use your phone to scan and purchase the product yourself without the help of any staff using your Apple ID, which I think is absolutely wonderful!)

Love the Apple Store. Always great to find new gadgets and products that are always improving. Whether it’s an iPad, iPod or iPhone I always love the gadgets in this store. Great quality but watch the stairs when you come in. They are transparent so be careful and don’t trip up! haha.

Hello, my name’s Jen and I am an apple-​holic. I just can’t stay away from all this fancy high-​tech gadgetry for very long. I lust after it. And the Apple Store is my biggest enabler!
From the moment you walk in the door, you can see people playing with all the cool stuff! From the shiny new iPad, the iPod Touch, the iPhone, the various sleek MacBooks, and the huge Mac Pro units. The very fact that you can hold everything in your hands just makes you lust after these smexy devices all the more. Oh, new iPad, you will be mine!
*Ahem*
I digress. I have made several purchases for myself and as gifts from the Apple store since it opened, and have always received friendly and helpful service from the sales staff. Whenever I’ve had problems with my iPod Touch (few, but the occasional glitch has popped up), the Genius Bar were always able to sort it out for me. I especially like that you can have your receipts emailed to you — save a tree, and all that jazz. The occasional workshops are also pretty interesting!
They also don’t mind people going in to grope their shiny tech, so for one such as myself, I can lust after my next purchase for many months. Yum. :P

Great Atmosphere with helpful Staff that knew what they were doing and not giving the uncomfortable hard sale.
Only down side was there was little interaction between Apple staff and the crowd, but the Great American Starbucks saved the day coming round with Coffee’s and a smile.
Here is hoping Edinburgh Council stop being ‘Muppets’ and the Apple Store in Princess Street gets completed!
