Pizza Express

I’ve always been a bit snooty about Pizza Express, but think I’ve only had one once before and figured it was high time I gave it another shot (my friend’s 30% off coupon helped persuade me).
One pizza is more than enough for one person, unless you know you can eat loads. My partner and I split the Rustichella Romana pizza (thinnest crispy crust, cheese, roasted tomatoes, rocket, pancetta, and Caesar dressing) and the Calabrese, a rectangular pizza with both hard and soft spicy sausage, hot chilies, grilled sweet peppers, mozzarella, rocket, and pesto. It was honestly just as good as it sounds. I was really surprised, but this pizza was legitimately impressive. It was by far and away the better of the two — the Rustichella was not very nice. Caesar dressing on a pizza, why?! It was our fault — we saw the other ingredients like pancetta and rocket and missed the dressing — when it arrived, we saw the globs of white dressing all over it and turned up our noses. It would’ve been a fine pizza without it, the crust was lovely. If you order this pizza, watch out for the dressing!
I’d come back for that Calabrese anytime, but next time I might share a pizza along with a side or salad. I can’t come close to finishing one on my own!

Love Pizza Express, great food at good prices. Definately try the Dough Balls for your starter!
