Compared to the run-down old monoliths that make up the Garston publands, the Phoenix can appear too modern, a tacky lean-to of red house brick. But then again, it’s not a pub per se, it’s a snooker, sports and social club. I guess I’ll just hush ma mouth. As you can no doubt tell from my meandering drivel, there isn’t much to say about the Phoenix. If you live directly opposite it and fancy starting up a snooker championship, it’s probably ideal. As a place to let your hair down and go mental though, you could definitely do better than the rather monotonous furniture-clogged room that makes up this place.
