This is a gem of a place, indeed, Ellie. It looks like a shop from a bygone era and it has that Mr. Benn affect of transporting you to somewhere far away(back in time). The smell as you enter took me back to being a girl with my father buying his pipe tobacco. Yum! The walls are filled with cabinets of beautiful pipes, including Meerschaums, and very well selected cigars, cigarillos and pipe tobacco. We were looking forward to buying some good rolling tobacco as a treat. The woman was lovely. But the tobacco wasn’t as good as it should be. The flavoured tobacco didn’t taste or smell correctly, but it is nonetheless very good tobacco. So many types of Rizzla papers and tips! And some less usual cigarettes too. It was a pleasure visiting the place and I feel quite naughty having bought some home with me.

This is a fabulous little gem of a shop. Situated in the heart of the bustling market place, it’s been in the same spot for decades. Totally traditional, it’s a delight for all smokers of pipes, cigars and cigarettes. It reminds me of one of those shops in the Harry Potter novels, almost magical in it’s endurance and wonderful quantity and quality of tobacco products which stretch high on shelves, behind olde-worlde glass cabinets. Here you can buy tobacco for the discerning pipe smoker in a wealth of different flavours and aromas. There are quality cigars and cigarillos galore, along with finely fragranced rolling tobacco. Plus of course a wide selection of branded packets of cigarettes. Accessories such a lighters are also for sale, and there is a collection of quirky walking-sticks for sale likewise. Plus a small selection of chocolates and sweets for those fancying a nibble. Long may shops like this continue to exist, with their old-fashioned charm and quality tobacco, giving a link to a bygone age and a glimpse into the traditional facets of the town centre.
