Mosset Tavern

Service was really good, staff polite. Food was of a good standard and plentiful. Roast beef was a bit chewy but this was hopefully a one of as we have eaten here before and the roast beef was to die for. Price was reasonable compared to others — £110 for 6 people including two rounds of drinks.
Will eat here again. Lost a star because of the beef but will reassess next time I visit.

We ate three times at the Mosset Tavern during our last holiday in Forres.
Just wish we had found this gem earlier we might have avoided a few very bad meals in other places
The pub is nicely decorated, very clean, staff is extremely nice and friendly.
On various holidays in Scotland we have been to many pubs and restaurants, many of them were very nice, but I must say the Mosset has become my absolute favourite.
It’s way more than just the usual pub grub, nicely presented, very well made food. Inspired and with fresh local produce (if it comes to beef you just can’t beat Scottish Angus, imho).
My tip: try the chorizo risotto it’s to die for.
We also tried burgers, fish’n’chips, chicken skewers, steak pie, roast of the day everything was very good, and surprisingly cheap, especially if you consider the quantity served. Which unfortunately made it impossible to try a dessert. Will surely leave room for that on our next visit to Forres already looking forward!

Great food. Had great risotto, steak pie and burger. Good service too and a stylish interior. Went back a second time and wasn’t disappointed.

A great place to go out in Forres. The public bar is suitably lively, the lounge is a nice, quietish place to grab a drink with friends and there is dancing through the back. I didn’t eat there at my last visit but the food at the Mosset was always great (but it’s been years since I’ve been).
