Visited quite late on a Saturday evening, they seemed slightly short of staff but we were promptly greeted on entering and we didn’t have to wait long to be served or for the food to arrive. The décor in this restaurant had obviously recently been updated and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food when it arrived. I also liked the fact there were several different specials to choose from on the menu. This is a good value restaurant in Fleet high street which I’d happily go back to.

Went to Ask for a family meal after work and loved the new menu and used one of the voucher offers which made it cheaper. It seems to be consistently good in there.

Came here on spec on a Saturday night and only waited 5mins for a table to be free. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and 2 calzones — one con carne piccante(£9.55) and one con fungi e formaggi(£8.75). Food arrived in about 7 minutes and it was hot, the doughcrust fresh and appetising-looking. That’s about it on the positive side… while we were waiting for our food, an almighty smell of burning poured out of the kitchen and we were relieved when it wasn’t our food. After serving our food, the waiting staff seemed to completely evaporate. Both calzones were light on the filling — only about half of each one had any filling at all. the calzone con fungi e formaggi was missing its goat’s cheese, had only 2 tiny bits of spinach and about 6 shreds of grated grana padano on top. The pesto was all together in a lump and incredibly salty. In previous visits I would have rated this 3stars, but it seems to have gone downhill. To be honest, the only reason we went today was because of the double nectar card points offer, which meant we got £20 off the bill(leaving less than £10 to pay). Just as well. It’s all I would have willingly paid…

If you’ve been to an Ask before, you’ll know exactly what to expect. The food is always pretty good, but I don’t rate it as highly as El Castello, which is another Italian just up the road. The service at Ask is usually fine, but nothing outstanding. Good atmosphere though, helped by the usual Ask modern décor and the fact the place is usually pretty full and buzzing.

Always dependable, good food. Good quality with lots of choice. My main comment would be that the menu doesn’t seem to change much, which is a bit disappointing

In my experience, a pretty good place, food has always been consistent, tasty and well presented. Perhaps the staff aren’t the friendliest but it is a major chain. Décor is clean, modern and the spacious restaurant has an airy feel to it. Its quite often well occupied, an indication that others think it is pretty good as well.

I was not impressed with the food in Ask in Fleet as mine had a singed hair in it! So this put me off. The service was very good and the waiter was very good. The food I did taste was good. I found it slightly expensive.

A huge ASK right on the High Street in Fleet. The usual menu(pizza and pasta) good value, fresh food. Excellent for people with children and fabulous puddings.
