Sterchi’s cakes are the best tasting, most prettiest cakes I’ve ever found. Maybe it’s because I travel all the way from Sheffield to sample one or two perhaps once a year, if I’m lucky, that make them such a delight. Just one little Sterchi cake tastes like the best ever birthday cake of my childhood. Bliss, pure bliss.

If you like cakes you will like Sterchis. It is what I think of as a proper cake shop. All nicely displayed and if you omly want one cake, which for me would be melt in the mouth fresh cream meringue, it comes in a box nicely tied with ribbon. If chocolate cakes are your weakness you will be spoiled for choice. There is an interesting choice of sandwiches and bread, bread buns, tea cakes etc. There are some gift items too, preserves, tins etc. Wecan’t allways wait and go and eat our cake in the memorial garden opposite but there is something nice about going home with a cake box swinging on your finger1
