Transition Edinburgh University is the kind of project Edinburgh University is in dire need of, you know, considering it tends to be kind of inconsiderate in that respect: tearing down old buildings, putting up new ones, etc. I mean, for a really informative review on what their straightforward goals are, look at Matthew’s review ’cause he’s pretty much spot on, but I can add this: everyone who works there(and I’ve met a fair share of them) are really passionate about what they’re doing. And their kind of work really needs people with their passion and ambition. So, hurrah for Transition.

Transition Edinburgh University is a community project which seeks to encourage students and staff at the university to create a low carbon way of life. The group offers a large and beneficial number of programmes for people to go on. These include: * The Big Green Makeover — a survey scheme which aims to make your house more energy efficient. * Carbon Conversations — a course which explores the ways you can cut down your carbon emissions. * Handprint Socials — Educational, Fun events which aim to provide people with information regarding carbon free living and climate change. Transition runs a lot more programs and is a great way to tackle the issue of climate change within a university setting. The idea originally started in Ireland and has grown with whole villages becoming Transition groups, and Edinburgh University has the only group of its like in Scotland! A great innovative way to tackle the issues of climate change and cutting carbon emissions!
