I got Fish and Chips and some vegetable pakoras from here. The fish was overcooked and bland, with no real taste of fish left in it, and the chips were okay but lukewarm. The batter was crunchy, which is nice, but that was largely because there was SOMUCH of it and because it had been fried to oblivion. More the colour of dark onion skin than a light golden brown. It’s a big, wide piece of fish, but it’s so flat that the batter-to-fish ratio is completely off. The pakora was not particularly nice, again lacking in flavour. There was lots of it for the price, though. Both their sauces were way too vinegary, too. I kind of expect that from brown sauce(which I’m pretty certain I asked not to receive because I don’t like brown sauce) but the spicy sauce that came with the pakoras also mainly tasted of vinegar. Delivery guy was friendly, though, and the delivery took about fifty minutes, which is almost exactly how long they suggested it would take. Will not be ordering from the friery again, and would only recommend it if your only criteria is price and quantity, and if you’re eating alone, as they have a smaller minimum order than most(£10).
