Although a small Tesco(Express) they do stock good offers and meal deals, handy for the office guys close by. Two self service machines help with the queues. Staff have been good and fast in helping you around. Cash machine located just on the outside for the people that do not like paying with cards!

Ein relativ kleiner Supermarkt mit einem durchwachsenen Angebot. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, die Preise gut. Kaufe hier gerne ein.

In and out in 5 minutes… does me grand. The aisles are veeerrrry tight so at ‘rush hour’ you end up knocking into people and those who stand around the milk section of the fridge staring at the milk for a good 30 seconds can be frustrating! Also, it has the problem that most ‘express’ shops have which is limited stock at times, particularly if there’s a snow. Apart from that, there’s nice staff and they’re extremely helpful. Everything is fresh and rotated constantly and this of course means the ‘bargain shelf’ is always well stocked(for the 80 year olds among us… namely me…) My major ‘why Tesco express will always win over Sainsburys local’ reason? No massive(like 10%) price increase on random stuff just because the shop is smaller. At least not that I’ve found yet.

This Tesco Express is my local store, so I shop here a lot. The staff are very friendly and always greet me. Like the previous reviewer said, it has a ATM, and is larger than the store on Lothian Road, with more products and slightly cheaper prices however, it is an express, so often doesn’t have some of the ingredients you might need to make your meal. It is handily located at the start of the union canal perfect for grabbing something for a picnic before a stroll along the canal towpath!

As far as city centre convenience supermarkets go(of which I’m starting to prove myself somewhat of a specialist…) this here is the Daddy. Big enough to stock practically everything you could need on short notice but small enough not to include all the junk that would clutter up the store otherwise; this Tesco is perfect for those living close by who need to pick up drink/pizza/cigarettes on short notice without wanting to pay the usual«convenience tax» for doing so, as it’s one of the few places nearby that won’t charge you for the privilege of shopping there. This Tesco Express should be made first port of call for anyone living equidistant or less from this one and the one over in Tolcross — that is unless of course Farmfoods has whatever you need in stock…

It is the newest addition in Tollcross area. The Tesco shop is next to Cargo bar and as most of the branches of the supermarket chain go, it comes with an ATM next to it main entrance. The shop is much bigger than the one on Lothian road and slightly cheaper in prices. It also offers a bigger range of products and deals of the day.
