I’m a firm believer in trying things once(well, most things) and so I was intrigued to hear about ‘threading’ as a form of hair removal. A friend of mine was having her eyebrows ‘threaded’ at Harvey Nics and so out of intrigue and for the craic, I decided to join. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Who knew a piece of cotton thread(yep, just the sort you’d use for sewing on buttons) could be so painful. It felt like my eyebrows were being tattooed. The pain was intense and although it subsided, I was left with tears streaming down my face… in a public place. Now while you might imagine that I would conclude this review with vowing never to put myself through such a procedure again, it’s quite the contrary. The results were great, my eyebrows looked fantastic, and like most vanity-related painful experiences, it doesn’t seem nearly so bad when it’s all over. It will hurt less the more I have it done too, or so I’m told. Sadly, this procedure costs £24 a pop, über expensive in my book and over-priced considering it is done in the middle of a department store(even if it is Harvey Nics).
