Shandwicks

Was not expecting this to be my 100^th review. Yay me! Ok here goes.
Not bad of a pub at all. Except something was weird. The place was like dead at 7pm this place should have been hoping especially with the cheap food & beer, and all the space. It even had a bouncer! Stopped in to have a beer last week with my mate and get some food. Not a bad place. Ordered a burger but was told they were out of burgers after I had paid and sat down. They kindly recommended me the rump steak and gave it to me for the same price as the burger which was awesome. I thank them for that, that was good customer service. Had a few beers and then left. Was not much to my visit except the above mentioned. But I had a good meal, had good customer service, and the place was quiet which I enjoyed. Most likely I will head back there some night I am sure. So yea check the place out I know this is a short review but I think more people need to discover this pub and maybe it will get busy on a saturday night like it should!

Previously known as the not-​so-​great Cuthberts, this place has been refurbushed and re-​branded as Shandwicks. Although there is a reminiscent smell of Cuthberts that lingers (but i’m sure will gradually fade away into many teenagers memories) the food menu is above par with many similar cheap bar food establishments. It has a good variety of different types of pizzas and curries as well as your normal pub grub. Steak pie is massive and well worth more the the £5-​odd that I paid. Great alternative to the well known pub food chains and has just as great daily discounts.
